Anyway, the biggest challenge for a plan as revolutionary as the FairTax is the demagoguery of it by mainstream forces that are dedicated to the status quo. A good example of this is this article. I had been thinking recently about the new compact fluorescent light bulbs. The idea seemed good enough. I pay more for the bulb, but it lasts much longer, uses less energy and saves me money. Keep in mind that I was thinking about this simply for monetary purposes- not environmental purposes. Call me selfish. Then I saw this.
