The Laws of Gardening: Family Arrives
http://lawsofgardening.blogspot.com/2009/07/family-arrives.html
The Laws of Gardening. Thursday, July 2, 2009. Family arrived at our new house this morning around 2AM. I have been tired from the moving that I couldn't stay awake to greet them. Actually, I didn't know they were there until Dearest threw the dog on the bed and told him to stay. He had been barking nonstop. Mully doesn't very much like strangers and especially doesn't like them at 2AM. Steven A.K.A. Officious Intermeddler. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

We’ve all heard about the horrible oil spill in the Gulf and how it’s impacting the environment and the livelihood of millions of people around the world. A woman wrote to me yesterday to ask how straw bales might be useful in protecting the shoreline and I’ve been thinking about that ever since. Thanks Jan! View all posts by Andrew Morrison →. Hoosier Homesteaders: February 2011
http://hoosierhomesteaders.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Notes on our journey to being more self-reliable. Sunday, February 27, 2011. Little Man has been keeping us plenty busy. Here he is dreaming about spring.at least his mom and dad are! To try to get in a bit of early "dirt" time, I separated my aloe pups from the mother plant and potted them. I also had to throw away the rosemary plant that didn't agree with growing in my kitchen. I'll try again with the rosemary, as it's a great herb for cooking. I'm crossing my fingers that I get some doelings. Selectin...

Notes on our journey to being more self-reliable. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. My Kids- Caprine Variety. The goat babies are doing very well. We ended up with two bucklings. From Tease, and a buckling and doeling. I really wanted a doeling. From both, but at least we got one. In the video you'll see 5 kids. We actually bought an Alpine buckling to be sure we could breed the girls this year. We're hoping to get a Saanen. Tease with her bucklings. And our Grand Prize- Heidi. Always loved the look of Oberhasli.

Hoosier Homesteaders: June 2011

Notes on our journey to being more self-reliable. Sunday, June 26, 2011. This year, we added 3 raised garden beds to the homestead. We have a large garden as well, but decided to change things up a bit. The large garden now grows corn, beans, some of our onions, and our viney. Plants (cukes, zukes, melons, and winter squash). We hope to add more raised beds as time goes on. I think this fall, when we plant more cabbages for canning saur. From sticking to the plants to keep the worms at bay. We moved out ...

Waiting for the Other Shoe | Just Be

Striving to live in the moment. Waiting for the Other Shoe. Posted by Jerri L Yager. Asymp; 4 Comments. There was a shoe again this morning on the sidewalk on the east side of Congress Avenue. It was just past the landscaping border in front of the Statesman Apartments. You know the one, there just before the grilled cheese truck and the juice cart. There was a brown sandal with a broken heel strap the month before John’s accident, in the mulch in front of the San Jose Hotel. The day after I saw it, ...

Feeding Cats | Just Be
https://indywriter18.wordpress.com/2015/10/28/feeding-cats
Striving to live in the moment. Posted by Jerri L Yager. Asymp; 5 Comments. When I was growing up, we brought table scraps out to feed the cats, hollering here kitty, kitty into the wind. The cats responded in a hoard and it was best to just step back and let them fight it out amongst themselves. The sound of deep-throated growling under nom, nom, nom was often heard. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Thoughts on “Feeding Cats”. October 28, 2015 at 12:31 pm. Another satisfying slice of life. Love it!
