Left Buffalo, right Oswego! Last Day in the Canal System :). Urger was the very first motorized Canal boat. It was built in 1901. Before this mules walked along beside the canal pulling barges of people and goods back and forth. This is the last one. Lock 8 of the Oswego Canal .and that my friends is Lake Ontario! Today we went thru a few more locks then spent the bulk of the day crossing Oneida Lake. The section of Erie Canal we passed by htis morning was a wildlife refuge so we saw many birds and creatures.
