Sunday, January 21, 2007. A Look at Leland. The other day I was able to talk with Leland Ornelaz, a print journalism student at USC. Leland is originally from Oxnard, California and hopes to travel the world someday as a foreign correspondent. Here’s a little bit more about his life and why he wants to be a journalist. Q: What would you say is something about yourself that most people don’t know? A: A lot of people know I’m in the military already… or that I was. Q: You were in the military…. I must admi...

Grain of Salt: Dream Job
http://saltamirano.blogspot.com/2007/04/dream-job.html
Sunday, April 1, 2007. Let's see.growing up I wanted to be a million things, well, maybe not a million.but I did change my mind quite a few times. I wanted to be a geologist, a veterinarian, a marine biologist, a teacher, an actress, a competitive runner, a writer, a journalist, and now a broadcast journalist. Out of all these things, there was one passion I suppressed.DANCE! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Motocross Races in Anaheim. Daisy and Donald (Our Ducati Family). View my complete profile.

Lindsey's Blog: Viva Las Vegas
http://lindseykaiser.blogspot.com/2007/03/viva-las-vegas.html
Thursday, March 22, 2007. Last week I got no sleep in the 24-hour hotspot known as Vegas. I not only got the opportunity to take part in the casino floor now that I am the big 2-1, but I was able to attend the motion picture industry convention ShoWest. The conference is the largest gathering of motion picture professionals and theatre owners in the world so obviously the experience was a bit overwhelming, but still extremely fun. Now to an extent a free t-shirt or new backpack can be beneficial. As ...

Leland's Blog: Frat Party
http://ornelazstuff.blogspot.com/2007/03/frat-party.html
Sunday, March 25, 2007. Loud music and disco lights flooded the room while scantily clad girls danced and sucked down shots of red bull and vodka. Drunken boys cheered them on and served up the sugary drinks that fueled the alcoholic smorgasbord. It looked like the Playboy mansion, only it was in a filthier house, a frat house to be exact. Since it was my first time at the house, my little brother guided me through the jungle of drunk college kids bumping and grinding on the dance floor. I actually felt ...

Saturday, March 24, 2007. Tuesday, March 6, 2007. So far I'd have to say that I've learned a lot in the short time I've been in this class. At first I was like, "HTML what? But now I have an idea what it is and how it is used. Now it's time to combine all the things we've learned so far, and make a final project that combines the knowledge we've obtained through J309 and our reporting skills from Annenberg. Three Things Newpaper Websites Can Do To Increase Traffic:. 2) More pictures. People love big ...

Grain of Salt: February 2007
http://saltamirano.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 25, 2007. An Altamirano in Alabama. I wasn't quite sure where to start my online campaign research, so I decided to do what I learned in the Army (which I am reminded of all the time) and that is to "Keep It Simple Soldier," or KISS; therefore, I searched out my last name to see what I could find. The results took me to a story that struck me at the heartstrings. Retiring as a Colonel. He actually volunteered for Vietnam in '66, '67 and earned many awards for his service. So I think I ma...
