Everpix failed by believing the misconception they should be ‘the next big startup’. The fact that we’re in 2013 and acquisition is still the default goal for new software companies is demoralizing. Everpix could still be running their product as a successful business, but it’s obvious that’s not what they wanted from the beginning. Microcopy: Writing an Interface. Intercom posted a great checklist. Of things to consider when writing. Mdash; buttons, help text, and success/error messages — for your website or application. Microcopy is an often neglected aspect of user interface design. It’s tempting to provide generic button text ( Save , Cancel ) or form labels ( Blog title , Email ) and leave it at that. But microcopy is a great opportunity to educate users on how a feature benefits them while also reinforcing their mental model.

I love this idea, and think it's critical for any type of meaningful success. There are always reasons. To do something — but it's better to ignore those and instead focus on the reasons why something.
