A Quilting Journey of Two Friends.who also like a glass of wine along the way. As Time Ticks By. Wow, it's been so long since I've posted I'd almost forgotten how! Not much stitching has been happening in my camp, as my camp has been going through some major changes. Life changes which I can only say continue to be a challenge. So for today, just a couple of pictorial updates. Firstly, French Mosaic, a Karen Cunningham design, is getting closer to having the centre done. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). PATCH...

A Quilting Journey of Two Friends.who also like a glass of wine along the way. Its the start of Spring in Australia and we are being blessed with beautiful blue skies here in Wagga Wagga and the temperature is beginning to warm slightly. We could do with some decent rain though to settle the dust and keep everything green. So some progress photos below leading to the finished top with borders attached just last night. What a feeling it's been, to be actually achieving and getting things done. Quilting an...

A Quilting Journey of Two Friends.who also like a glass of wine along the way. Quilt Fest = Inspiration Overload. Recently JulieAnn and myself had a road trip to Castlemaine in Victoria to enjoy some girl time and view the bi-annual Castlemaine Applique Group Quilt Exhibition. The whole weekend was well worth the what seemed like a never ending journey. The quilts were absolutely amazing, the majority being "our style" of quilting. Truly soul reviving and inspiration in bounds. A snippet of purchases.

Every Stitch: The Burnt Quilt
http://everystitchblog.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-burnt-quilt.html
Wednesday, 7 November 2012. I have been working on The Burnt Quilt aka "Oh dear, Mrs Tompkins" (Di Ford's lovely reproduction pattern ) - using the Dutch chintz central panel in the centre. I am also using a small stash of Dutch chintz florals in the big stars, though I hate chopping them up. If you know the pattern, you might see I have avoided doing the tricky inner borders by replacing them with appliqued red stars (fun to do with English paper piecing) . That is what I am working on at the moment.
