Random Noise: It's Time for Conservatives to Show Respect and Honour
http://kyleselmes.blogspot.com/2009/09/its-time-for-conservatives-to-show.html
Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education." J.F.K. September 30, 2009. It's Time for Conservatives to Show Respect and Honour. Accountability and transparency are probably two of the most important facets of democracy. Without either of these democracy really isn't a system that is 'for the people, by the people'. Voting for and selecting our representatives that sit in parliament is only one part of the equation. It has to be a reciprocal relationship. Is this a surprise?

Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education." J.F.K. September 02, 2009. An Open Letter to All Residents of Nunavut: Regarding the Illegal Nomination of Dennis Patterson as Senator for Nunavut. Read the letter below and leave some comments or pass it along to those that need to read this. Prime Minister Harper seems to have completely ignored his legal obligation to nominate a Nunavummiut for this Senate appointment, and feels that no one in Nunavut is capable of representin...

Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education." J.F.K. October 30, 2009. When the Ship is Sinking is it Best to Put Hope in Dead Weight? The National Post is this close to closing up shop. Im amazed its made it this far. As a business, the National Post is a failure. It has yet to turn a profit and losses are in the tens of millions each year on average. With some years way beyond that number. This raises a huge question though? Im not an economist or business grad but Im gues...
Random Noise: Stephen Harper; A Colonial Mind

Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education." J.F.K. September 23, 2009. Stephen Harper; A Colonial Mind. At the core of the colonial mindset is its self-destructive logic. It is unconscious nihilism. Insecurity often drives an elite to believe itself incapable of taking the lead in its country's own affairs. For reassurance it seeks out and clings to some outside force, thus hoping for special consideration. Consideration for what purpose? Stephen Harper's entire tenure has...

Mild-mannered commentary on the great metropolitan newspapers. Friday, November 26, 2004. Although we've come to the end of the road. I haven't been this entertained in months. This week has been full of laughs, triumphs, and bitter defeats, and I loved every minute. Here's how I see the final tally:. Day 7: Mugging Monkeys vs Gander the grenade victim. Day 6: Shunned Seahorses vs Carry-on Chainsaws. Is just a bit farther over the line. Day 5: Virgin Toast 2 vs Lithuanian Suicide. Day 2: Exhumed Chihuahu...

The Issues: DEMOCRACY; BAN THE BURN (Incinerator for Clarington); SUSTAINABILITY; ELECT THE CHAIR (Democracy for Durham Region); FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY; POLITICAL TRANSPARENCY; SENSIBLE GOVERNMENT and plenty more. Big Vote Today, Big Vote in November 2010. Today Councillors in Durham Region will vote on their incinerator folly, and will anger and alienate even further the majority of their constituents. Yes I may be a little premature, but I can't seen any of them changing their votes today. I've even...

Clarington Watchdog: Who Speaks for US?
http://claringtonwatchdog.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-speaks-for-us.html
The Issues: DEMOCRACY; BAN THE BURN (Incinerator for Clarington); SUSTAINABILITY; ELECT THE CHAIR (Democracy for Durham Region); FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY; POLITICAL TRANSPARENCY; SENSIBLE GOVERNMENT and plenty more. Who Speaks for US? Who can we count on to speak for us? It appears, not our Clarington. Mayor He is apparently under the impression (and said so) that Durham Region comes first. Clarington. Must come second to the Region which is the upper tier. He says he was elected to represent the Region.

Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education." J.F.K. July 11, 2015. Toronto Pan Am 2015: Lack of Oversight or Corruption? This story may seem small considering that the games' cost is well into the billions of dollars. However, given all the other issues which seem to indicate a lack of oversight, how can anyone be certain that this isn't just one symptom of many? Maybe MAYBE. This has something to do with contractual obligations and it's an issue with providing exclusiv...

Sénégal '07-'08
Monday, April 14, 2008. I'm taking a class on environment problems in Senegal and we got the chance to visit the city's landfill known as Mbeubeus. Verrrrry disgusting trip! But worth it. The other picture is from Hann Bay, which used to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world; due to pollution it's now one of the world's most polluted. Pretty sad. For Easter weekend, I went to the Lompoul Desert and rode camels! Lompoul is not quite the Sahara but it is very close, and it is a desert in fact!
