This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. October 4th, 2014. This photo is of our fireplace decorated for fall/Halloween. It has nothing to do with the subject of the blog entry, but there was no pleasant way to illustrate this entry. So heres a nice fall photo for you. Youre welcome. If you are easily grossed out by medical procedures, bodily fluids, etc. then this post may not appeal to your delicate sensibilities. Come back tomorrow for a post about soup. Five years ago, my husband had his t...

This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. August 12th, 2014. I came back to the house from a walk last night when my husband told me Robin Williams died. I gasped. He followed that with the suspected cause of death: suicide. Then I felt a little part of my soul retreat, looking for a safe place to hide. Robin Williams, beloved actor, comedian, and genius, died from depression. Depression, being the sneaky liar that it is, would love to remain shrouded in shame so that it can go unabated. As far...

This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. Archive for May, 2014. Southwest turkey flatbread (fill in the blank). May 30th, 2014. I know I moved to Ohio, but you’d think I’d moved to the Southwest for all the Tex-Mex inspired cooking I’ve been doing lately. When deciding what to do for dinner last night, I contemplated turkey burgers and thought about using a Rachel Ray recipe I had on Pinterest. But my tiny tummy has a [.]. Read More ». This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. Archive for June, 2014. June 13th, 2014. You know how one minute you are stopped on the interstate in heavy morning traffic and the next minute you hear a loud BOOM followed by a crunching sound and you feel your car being pushed out of your lane into another innocent vehicle? Well, consider yourself very fortunate because that happened to me [.]. Read More ». Posted in apropos of nothing. Rambling crap that I am too tired to spell check. June 8th, 2014.

This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. Archive for September, 2014. September 17th, 2014. I put on a few pounds this summer. I had reasons: Stress eating and drinking from the move and the car wreck; inability to exercise while there was a bulging pool of blood on my leg that turned into a gaping hole the size of a golf divot; difficulty finding rewarding employment, etc. The result [.]. This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. I am a curvy girl. Plump, chubby, heavy, whatever you want to call it. I dropped 100 pounds in 2013. Big number. I did it through determination, sweat, exercise, portion control, bariatric surgery, more sweat and more determination. The name of this blog is based on my mission to work my way down the scale to a healthy weight. I have done that. Now the real challenge? I am a fat-but-fit girl with a goal. 3 Responses to “Mission statement”. The heat is on.

This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. November 16th, 2014. This is a ridiculously long post about a dessert. But it’s also a eulogy to a dream and rise-from-the-ashes-type of self pep talk for me. But it’s mostly about a cake. Investing time on Pinterest looking for new recipes for Thanksgiving. We are hosting in our new house this year and this fact has awakened my inner Martha to clean, decorate, and cook. The first experiment was caramelized bacon wrapped sesame asparagus. And tell me yo...

This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. September 12th, 2014. This week my handsome husband and I joined a new gym. LA Fitness is a national chain and we hooked up at the one near my favorite shopping mall. A place to work out close to a place where I can buy the clothes that keep me motivated to work out: Heaven’s gates open, cue choir singing. When my daughter was young, we joined the YMCA for all it had to offer for kids and adults. Now? 8220;See all these cardio machines in here? Seats Yo...

This is not a weight loss blog. I’m super friendly. Archive for October, 2014. The heat is on. October 5th, 2014. As promised, today’s post is about soup. The last post was about something that rhymes with soup. But we’re done with that topic. Moving on. The Secret Life of a Weather Datum. The Secret Life of a Weather Datum. Our research project aims to pilot a new approach for better understanding and communicating how socio-cultural values and practices are articulated in the transformation of weather data on its journey from production through to various contexts of ‘big data’ collation, distribution and re-use. In three different socio-cultural contexts climate science, financial markets and citizen science. The project asks the following questions:.
