Thursday, 25 February 2010. Here are a few photos taken from Getty images, I would like to do something like this myself creating a set of photographic images to show as flirtatious posters. I think the feature of the mouth is quite a flirtatious feature to the woman as well as the eyes. Labels: Advertising and Promotion. Monday, 22 February 2010. Evaluation of Research and Design Development. Labels: Evaluation of Research. Typefaces made with objects and the human figure. Vogue August 1940 front cover.

Design Context: Evaluation

Friday, 4 June 2010. Throughout my Final Major Project I feel that I have improved a lot. From looking at my previous design work over the years my skills have progressed and I have learnt to focus on a more professional level. I really feel that I have worked hard and stepped up abit from the last module and experimented with my designs. The strengths that I would say for my briefs would be the documentation of development and process and also applying it to different products and objects. The w...Throu...

Monday, 24 May 2010. For my Design Context Book I emailed a few designers and agencies that I thought would be useful for me and to help me with my design practice, I didnt get much feedback, people were either to busy or they weren't aloud to reply to the questions from emails. Seb Lester was one of the main designers that I wanted feedback and he did which I was really happy about. This is what was said. I'm taking a break in Sussex at the minute, but have a few. 1 What makes you as a designer? So it's...

Thursday, 28 January 2010. Looking at my research I have noticed that the majority of drink advertisement's are focused around the woman's body and sexual attraction. I have decided to look at the female figure and work with this as a type of communication for the theme flirtatious. I have looked at different types of figures focusing on the pose, and stance and how it can be looked at as attractive. Sexy Type' by Airside's Malika Favre - Creative Review Blog. Design Context: Creative Advertising
http://l-oneill0710-dc.blogspot.com/2010/05/creative-advertising.html
Wednesday, 12 May 2010. I was looking through a book called Creative Advertising by Thames and Hudson. I mostly focused on looking at how image on its on creates a message and how using typography and the layout of type interprets a message to the viewer. Moisturising cream promoting it using typography using the number 61 but when you look at the advert upside down it shows the number 19 the message that they are trying to put across is that use. This image below highlights the importance of packaging d...

Design Practice James Page: October 2009
http://l-oneill0710-dp.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 22 October 2009. Design of the CD. Design Development - Illusions. 1960s and Retro Colour Palette. Design Development using type and colour with gradients. From the feedback I recieved from the last crit it came in use for me to move forward with my designs and where to go with them and how to develop them . I also needed to work more to a colour palette and look in to this more and maybe using less colour or a few contrasting colours also to go bold and more geometric. Sunday, 18 October 2009.

Design Practice James Page: Crit 12/11/09
http://l-oneill0710-dp.blogspot.com/2009/11/crit-121109.html
Wednesday, 18 November 2009. From the feedback I got from the James Page brief it was quite straight forward I was just to make it more personal to the client and focus on the type of music, even though speaking to the client himself he feels it fits well to his type of music of a retro style. I also need to try experimenting with the vision of the design maybe to try a spring effect so what I will be doing is experiment with different effects in Photoshop using light, shadows, overlay etc.
