The LAACR was established in 2012 by a collaborative effort between the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdamt (Netherlands) and the Heart Clinic (Klinik Hirslanden) in Zürich (Switzerland). The aim of LAACR study is to research feasibility, safety and long term outcome (10 year mirror analysis) after different surgical LAA closure procedures and lay ground for the establishment of guidelines. Outcomes analyzed are related to cardiac rhythm, medications and events (thromboembolic vs. bleeding).
