labelmeplease: December 2005

http://labelmeplease.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

An eclectic amalgam of theology, philosophy, and random emotional snapshots deriving from my life experience. Saturday, December 31, 2005. Liberal" is not a bad word. This church, being in Texas, upheld the patriotism that all good Christians hold to. The Holy Republican Party ruled. All Democrats were dismissed with a social armband identifying them as "misguided", and definitely not to be paid attention to. After all, the Democrats. That would be the same root word as. At anyone who would be so arrogan...

An eclectic amalgam of theology, philosophy, and random emotional snapshots deriving from my life experience. Saturday, February 13, 2010. The University of Texas at Dallas: Land of Enchantment! If you know anyone considering an education at UTD, look them in the eye and with a British accent say, "On second thought, don't go to UTD . . . tis a silly place.". A few photos may suffice:. Lastly, the bathrooms. Just replace ugly with . . . ugly BUT environmentally sound! If you wikipedia UTD, they refer to ...

An eclectic amalgam of theology, philosophy, and random emotional snapshots deriving from my life experience. Sunday, January 22, 2006. If you're a Jew the sharp glances of your Babylonian superiors makes you question if your faith is really one that is in your best interest to hold to. It's never been easy to be a monotheist. It could be said, it seeks to be a shepherd boy who does not attempt to do battle on Babylon's terms with sword, shield and armor, but instead, uses a small rock and the grace of Y...

An eclectic amalgam of theology, philosophy, and random emotional snapshots deriving from my life experience. Friday, May 26, 2006. Which implies something that is predictable in plot). The video set up -. Side characters: city government, popular figures, etc. So, did this video attributing these extreme transformations that took place in several cities have some truth to it? Were the events in some way determined by the prayer of the churches present in those cities? This is why there is no such thing ...

An eclectic amalgam of theology, philosophy, and random emotional snapshots deriving from my life experience. Thursday, October 27, 2005. So, I'm wrapping up Bosch right now. I've got 70 pages left, and if I don't get my thoughts down now they'll disappear completely in a few weeks. So, sorry if you're a Bosch-hater, but that all you're gonna get for the next few weeks. McLaren writes 250 pages on what he sees that is good in most denominations and opposing dialectical situations that divide Christianity...

80's Child: July 2005

http://jamessummers.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

I most likely will not be able to blog from July 22-Aug 3 due to my absence to Africa. This does not concern me. Leaving lots of stuff behind here to take care of (minimal concern). Flying for 20 hours and not being able to sleep. Getting to Zambia without a clue in the world of what I'm to do or how to do it. Forgetting to take precautions with my health and getting sick over there. After having had an amazing time, having to leave. My doubt and worry are darknes. In Your grace will You take care of me.

80's Child: June 2005

http://jamessummers.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html

Spoken words ring true. Written words read certain. The Word that was, is, and will be. That Word lets me rest. That Word gives me peace. That Word burns into me. A heart of truth. As i have spent the last 3 weeks traveling around the country for camps, i have heard sermon after sermon after sermon. the common thread of them all? And how is all this possible? How is that i'm able to learn these things? 2 words: BY GRACE. Liberated from the weight that crushed my Savior. Posted by James @ 2:38:00 PM.

80's Child: November 2005

http://jamessummers.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Sunday morning we went to church under the bridge in Austin. We met and ministered to a slew of homeless people. We got to give them a hearty meal and share the love of Christ with them. It was a great experience for our youth to go and see and be emersed in that. I know God will continue to bless the kids and has started something great in them. Like I said, God is amazing. And this is the start of something pretty sweet I know it. Posted by James @ 8:57:00 AM. To blog or not to blog. My skin is showing.

twenty something somethings: My New Favorite Song is...

http://hureneelewis.blogspot.com/2008/09/my-new-favorite-song-is.html

My New Favorite Song is. While I'm Waiting" by John Waller. I'm waiting on you, Lord. And I am hopeful. I'm waiting on  you, Lord. Though it is painful. But patiently, I will wait. I will move ahead, bold and confident. Taking every step in obedience. I will serve You. I will not faint. I'll be running the race. Even while I wait. I'm waiting on You, Lord. And I am peaceful. I'm waiting on You, Lord. Though it's not easy. But faithfully, I will wait. Yes, I will wait. I will serve You while I'm waiting.

twenty something somethings: Fireproof Comes in 4th

http://hureneelewis.blogspot.com/2008/09/fireproof-comes-in-4th.html

Fireproof Comes in 4th. I went to see "Fireproof" with some friends this weekend. I know, I know. I'm not married, which is what the movie is all about, and I'm not a fireman. So why did I go see it? With "The Passion," "Facing the Giants," and now "Fireproof," I hope there will be a steady stream of movies to come that aren't afraid to talk about God in a positive way and that will relate with the mainstream audience. . The acting at times was cheesy, but I loved it! Sunday, September 28, 2008. I loved ...
