Gray Matters: March 2015
http://emilyaustingray.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. This year's NMHS school play was Guys and Dolls. It's pretty exciting for 7th graders to be in the play with the high schoolers, even though they usually just get chorus parts. Lucy worked hard but had a great time as a Times Square tourist and a Cuban dancer. These are some seriously darling Dolls! Posted by Emily and Austin Gray. Darnton gave a keynote speech on blogging. What would he think of this blog? Before and after the symposium at Utah State, I had a few days to see fam...

Gray Matters: England Trip
http://emilyaustingray.blogspot.com/2015/06/england-trip.html
Tuesday, June 16, 2015. I went to England so I could do some research with one of my undergraduate students at the British Library and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon. Jesse and I at the British Library. Staying awake and riding the tourist bus on our first day. Old and new architecture. I always knew Mom was a Hufflepuff. Baptismal font in Chester Cathedral. Thomas Fredrick Fisher was christened here. Stone devil high up in the clerestory. Phoning home from the high street. On th...

Gray Matters: Summer Camp
http://emilyaustingray.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-camp.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. It's been a lovely summer so far. Luna moth on the screen door. It's been a productive summer, too. For me, at least. I got an article revised and accepted for publication and an essay written for an edited collection. I'm making pretty good progress on a book chapter for my own project, too. This in spite of the fact that neither Gavin nor Lucy was willing to do any kind of summer camp this year! So far, this has turned out to be my most brilliant parenting move ever.

Gray Matters: November 2014
http://emilyaustingray.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Weird double "butt" pumpkin photo bomb. Gavin's hair would make him perfect for Dorothy's companion Scarecrow. He wouldn't let me cut it because he thought a Mad Scientist should have wild and crazy hair. To make things worse, he's been going to swim team three nights a week then washing his hair with whatever soap he can find in the locker room afterward (ewww! Dorothy at the Middle School Dance with. Tin Man, Glinda, and the Wicked Witch (sans hats). Ready to Trick or Treat!

Gray Matters: October 2014
http://emilyaustingray.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 12, 2014. This year, Gavin decided to give fall soccer another try. It's the recess game of choice for most of his pals and he had a great time playing soccer with our cute Chinese exchange students this summer. So serious about this game. Waiting for team results . . . First place at the Harwood Meet! Posted by Emily and Austin Gray. I can't believe my little girl is twelve! How did this happen? And The Fault in our Stars. Big extravagant theme parties appear to be a thing of the past, a...

Gray Matters: Lucy
http://emilyaustingray.blogspot.com/2015/06/lucy.html
Sunday, June 14, 2015. Lucy has had a busy spring, and I've been too busy to put it on the blog. So here's a summary of Lucy's activities of the past several weeks. It's been five years since we started the book club! That's 60 books read and 60 fun book discussions. We celebrated with an ice cream cake. We celebrated Lucy's great sister-hood with an ice cream cake (notice a theme here? I walked outside the other day and saw . . . what? Austin has taught Lucy to drive the tractor!

Wearing What I Want: 10 Day Challenge, Day 10; O is for Orphan
http://wearingwhatiwant.blogspot.com/2012/02/10-day-challenge-day-10-o-is-for-orphan.html
Wearing What I Want. This is what I wear, for better or worse. Friday, February 3, 2012. 10 Day Challenge, Day 10; O is for Orphan. Day 10: Something that Scares Me. Fear #1: Red wide pants (my closet orphan that only gets out about every other Christmas or Fourth of July). Fear #2: Tucking in baggy shirts - I always feel like I get a faux muffin top just above my pants that looks goofy. So, in conclusion, the sum of all my fears looks like this:. Shirt - Christopher and Banks, $15. Pants - JC Penney, old.

Two Modern-Day Temples | sing, set, spike
https://singsetspike.wordpress.com/2013/07/20/two-modern-day-temples
Sing, set, spike. Nosotros fuimos a Tikal. July 20, 2013. Josh and I spent the last week of our trip travelling around the southwestern part of Guatemala–an area Josh was fairly unfamiliar with–with an eye toward visiting the two LDS Temples. First, we visited the temple in Quetzaltenango. It was dedicated just two years ago, and is built after the “small temple” paradigm. Guest house) where we spent the night:. Believe me, there were way more than two! Here is one last daytime view of the Temple:. We en...
