B*tch, Pelisse!: A Tale of two Tin-types
http://missbrilliantine.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-tale-of-two-tin-types.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. A Tale of two Tin-types. Last Sunday the Social Daunce Irregulars in conjunction with Los Encinos State Historic Park put on an event called a Victorian Day in the Park. Frolics were had, a little dancing was done (less than anticipated because of the heat) and pictures were made. I've had my picture made in the wet plate process before and have had great results. But take a look at the variability of this process. June 30, 2015 at 6:45 PM. I think you look exceedingly fabulous!

http://missbrilliantine.blogspot.com/2015/07/ladies-i-salute-you.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Ladies, I Salute You! Still working toward my sewing mojo. In the mean time I have been pondering the women who have stepped out of their comfort to make amazing products available to the rest of us. I used to think how great it would be if SOMEONE made historical reproduction shoes that were affordable. I thought about it a lot. One can only scramble through the left-. My American Duchess Pompadors. How'd you like a house falling on you! Lauren of Wearing History has had her se...

B*tch, Pelisse!: I Tried to Sew a Thing
http://missbrilliantine.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-tried-to-sew-thing.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. I Tried to Sew a Thing. Is it a summer malaise? Have you ever gotten into such a turn of mind were even the thing you love to do is too much trouble? I've made a few forays into the sewing room and thought and thought about projects. I get out patterns and even bought some silk online. Meh, too much trouble, it's too hot, I don't wanna. What a rut. But you want pictures. I know how this works. Is it a catarrh? Should I remove her tonsils, and put them in a jar? I totally get the r...

B*tch, Pelisse!: October 2014
http://missbrilliantine.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. A Little Sad, A little Spooky and a Little Dog. When she died, I lost the mainstay of my life and went through a grief that left me on the "blasted heath" with King Lear, buffeted by winds and weather. She was such a part of my emotional life but also my everyday. And everyday life is what propels you forward. The jig was up. My Father died two months later, my Mother is fine. Cleo stays wherever she lives now. I do wonder if our bias for words is what keeps us from understandin...

B*tch, Pelisse!: September 2014
http://missbrilliantine.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Public vs. Private. Someone recently suggested I link this blog to Facebook. I'd potentially reach more people, this sounds like a good idea. Sounds like. I have been torn from the beginnings of the interwebs between the desire to connect, contribute and share with the very deep seated desire for privacy. Funny that. Anyway, I WILL have pictures of the seaside picnic next time. Even if I'm dressed in a barrel. Every your Thimble,. Monday, September 22, 2014. What are the odds?

B*tch, Pelisse!: April 2015
http://missbrilliantine.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 16, 2015. This is why I can't get anything done. Start and stop and then a Fabalanche (that's a fabric avalanche). This is what I'm trying to finish. A simple bustle dress made from a cotton sari, no trimming necessary it's embroidered. Just spelunking for lining cotton distracts me. So many discoveries deep, deep in the boxes. Solidarity in creative chaos! I can't decide if I'm ashamed or triumphant, talk about distracted.). I will finish and post pictures, then who'll have the last laugh.

B*tch, Pelisse!: Impressionist Picnic
http://missbrilliantine.blogspot.com/2015/05/impressionist-picnic.html
Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Or what you can make with a $10 sari other than a regency gown. I wanted an easy picnic dress and found a lovely simple organdy sari. The rest you can see for yourself. Mostly pictures, beware! I used every bit of the embroidered edge, it made itself! I filled in the curvy front with another bit of embroidered organdy. Never throwing anything away pays off. I draped the overskirt using as much of the edge as possible, asymmetry to the recuse. Lolling under the trees. Val, the SDI ...
