The following history of the Los Angeles County Fire Department originally appeared in concurrent issues of Straight Streams. Los Angeles County Fire Department. Forestry Division - Part 2. Spencer Tuner, another prominent figure in Los Angeles County Forestry’s heritage, was appointed Forester and Fire Warden, just two days before the passing of previous Forester and Fire Warden Stuart Flintham on June 8th 1925, taking the reigns of the fledgling department and leading it for the next 27 years.
