A Wandering Aussie: August 2007
http://a-wandering-aussie.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 31, 2007. Vienna, Austria (29th-31st August). Vienna was just pure frustration, the reason being that it seemed like an amazing city they have over 50 museums, not to mention countless churches, cathedrals and palaces, and it is pretty massive. The touristy zone is way bigger then that of St Petersburg, and the largest touristy zone i have ever seen (so far at least). But the tourist information is useless! What is the description of it? Links to this post. Yodelling in the Alps. On the 28...

A Wandering Aussie: Keep off the Grass!
http://a-wandering-aussie.blogspot.com/2007/12/keep-off-grass.html
Sunday, December 23, 2007. Keep off the Grass! Rome, Italy (5th-12th November). I spent a week in Rome, so i will keep this post short . ish, and just give you the highlights and interesting events. Per year, compared to an average wage of about 500, they were movie stars! The most impressive art in Rome is the vatican museums, never really heard of them? Well what if i mentioned the Sistine chapel? What if i told you that Porphyry is the rarest marble in the world and is only owned by the vatican (due t...

A Wandering Aussie: The Green City
http://a-wandering-aussie.blogspot.com/2007/12/green-city.html
Saturday, December 1, 2007. Amsterdam, Netherlands (November 22-23rd). I was really surprised to learn that the Netherlands has one of the lowest percentage of pot smokers per population in Europe, and that the number 1 pot smoking nation in the world is . New Zealand? There just isnt enough I can say about this city, no matter whether you are into cannabis, sex, alcohol or not this city has something for absolutely everyone, and has spectacular views along the houseboat lined canals. Amazing place, ...

A Wandering Aussie: October 2007
http://a-wandering-aussie.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 29, 2007. My Isnt that grand! Arizona, USA (October 9th). If there was one disappointing experience with the grand canyon it was the obvious pollution in the air that is so visible on the horizon. This may not come as a surprise at first glance but considering it is over 200 miles from the nearest city, the fact you can see heavy smog on the horizon is phenomenal (in a bad way) especially when you come from a country that has very little smog and pollution. A Wandering Aussie: September 2007

Monday, September 24, 2007. The Storm of the Century. Ljubljana/Maribor, Slovenia (18th September). We stayed at the cafe till about 8pm, when about 10 people called David saying lots of roads are being closed, so if you dont want to get stuck you had better move fast, so we left and saw that massive puddles were forming everywhere in Ljubljana and there was no end in sight to this downpour. Thursday, June 28, 2007. TIPS BACKPACKERS NEED TO KNOW BEFORE DEPARTING! For example require a lot of information, so apply for these as early as possible. You need access to money! But after doing some researching I found out it really doesn’t matter what withdrawal fees and currency conversion fees the banks charge you as the big difference is what exchange rates your bank uses. You often see up to a 3-5% difference in currency conversion rates between different banks. In. And link that back to your Au...

A Wandering Aussie: Thatssssss Amore!
http://a-wandering-aussie.blogspot.com/2007/12/thatssssss-amore.html
Saturday, December 1, 2007. Venice, Italy (27-30th November). When the moon hits the sky like a big piece of pie . thats Amore! Think about that line the say it again then sing it . is it stuck in your head? If the answer is no then go back and do it again, if the answer is yes then you are now suffering from the same affliction that I faced for the better part of 4 days! Internet time up, to be continued. Thats right 6-7 years! Sadly, the time had come to leave Venice as the travelling must go on, and s...

A Wandering Aussie: The Fashion Capital
http://a-wandering-aussie.blogspot.com/2007/12/fashion-capital.html
Saturday, December 1, 2007. Milan, Italy (24-25th November). We also went drinking with a local couple, which was funny in its own right, as we had a chinese whispers type of translation circle going around and ended up with some humorous misconceptions. We also drank some of the lovely red wines, chianti or sangiovese anyone? And had our fair share of Gelati, seriously the best ice cream in teh world over here. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I had no idea what to expect in comnig to Berlin, it was a last minute change of mind, I was supposed to go to Brussels but my accomodation stuffed me around and I couldnt find anymore last minute so i decided to go up to Berlin instead. So what did i do here? But lacked atmosphere and tourist activities. Next is Amsterdam, I dont expect that place to lack culture :). Links to this post. Saturday, November 17, 2007.
