Zagori: Sights in the area. Where we are: Zagori and how to get here. Is one of the beautiful villages of Zagori. And is built in 1060 m altitude and is 39 km away from Ioannina. It is named after a big fir-tree that had been in that area since 1840. Until 1753 it used to be a community consisting of three districts (Vitsa, Ano Mahalas, Ag. Georgios). It came to its peak in the 17th and 18th century, when its benefactors built mansions, churches and schools there. Rizari brothers come from Monodendri.

Η περιοχή : Το Ζαγόρι και που βρισκόμαστε. Είναι από τα ωραία χωριά του Ζαγορίου. Χτισμένο σε υψόμετρο 1060 μ. σε απόσταση 39 χλμ. από τα Γιάννενα. Το όνομά του το οφείλει σε ένα μεγάλο έλατο που υπήρχε μέχρι το 1840. Μέχρι το 1753 ήταν μία κοινότητα με τρείς μαχαλάδες (Βίτσα, Άνω Μαχαλάς, Αγ. Γεωργίου).
