Archived entries for recipes. June 23, 2012. I LOVE rose hips! I can’t quite figure out why they aren’t included in more recipes. They have bright citrus notes yet have an earthiness that is distinct and comforting. I grew up with a hot rose hip syrup drink for cold days and a sore throat. The main thing that caught our eye upon entering was the wall of salts. Sugarpill has a huge selection of culinary salts, with unique varieties like merlot salt and fennel salt! December 12, 2012. Little Book of Little Gardens. A couple of years ago, I wrote a post about awesome tiny gardens. I found the miniature works of art, especially the pothole gardens, to be a delightful way to make a person stop in their tracks and take notice of their surroundings. I also feel that it’s the right thing to contact someone about their photos before posting in a blog, which is how I met the pothole gardener himself, Steve.
