Wednesday, 31 August 2011. Our first hazard, and we haven't even started yet. After much preparation and converging travel, here we are at Land's End, or, for us, Land's Beginning. Tomorrow will be Day 1 and Sept 1st! As you see it is a sunny evening and we are full of hope and confidence that tomorrow will be the same. Mat of Bristol texts 'Go go go! Monday, 5 September 2011. Day 4 Pitney to Fownhope. The picture shows the mighty Severn river, viewed from the famous bridge which includes a wide lane for bikes and people.[Unaccompanied bikes are not allowed]. In the distance you can see the other. Earlier we had ascended the Cheddar Gorge. Remembering the North Congo proverb kindly supplied by Gordon: You fell trees with your stomach,. We first fuelled with coffee and bacon sandwiches. Once over the Severn we were met by Saskia (3) and Lorena (1).

Today we passed through New Cumnock, where there is a statue of Robbie Burns, who must have looked at scenes like these to pen his lines Flow gently sweet Afton, Among thy green braes! Notice in shop window, New Cumnock. Bearded dragon looking around shop. We moved on against increasing wind to Ardrossan, aware of warnings of a dangerous storm tomorrow. Well done, Guys!
