Lowrider Hop – An Essay. Lowriders, Student Work. Taking found footage of an underground lowrider hop in San Diego, California. I just started the project of filming the car club Unique Ladies, and after a day of filming a car show they invited me to the lowrider “after party,” where the diehard take their hopping lowriders to back parking lots for impromptu competitions. Minimalistic editing coupled by narration where I unpack the meanings of this performance in essayist form. Where are All the Chicanos?
