Adirondack Adventure – Day 6. Jul 29, 2015. It was time to press on and get closer to our destination. Instead of taking a direct route to Plattsburg. We took a little scenic detour and visited Fort Ticonderoga. This fort offers tours and some great lessons in history. The views of Lake Champlain. Afforded French, British and American troops (at different times! After our side trip, we drove north along the scenic route to AuSable Chasm Campground. Can you see why we hollered when we first saw this view?

Dancing for the fun of it. From an informal group that began to dance in the Burlington area before 1960, the Lakeside Steppers were formed in 1961. Jim Ford was the caller and Bill Alexander cued. In 1969 Lakeside Steppers started the Maple Sugar Festival. When Jim Ford left the area for southern Vermont, Bob Sedlor called for about 15 months. Jim Ford came back and then moved to Florida for good. In 1968 the official club was formed. At the time he was still calling for Covered Bridge Stompers.
