Tuesday, July 20, 2010. One Last Quick Post. So, we have now made it home. The trip was great but I am very happy to be home once again. I can't wait to sleep in my bed! Just a last few quick things: we drove a total of 3,970 miles on our trip. My car's oil was changed just before Memorial Day and on the way back home, near Rawlins, WY my light came on to have my oil changed. Never had it come around that fast! We've finally gone as far east as we'll get and we are now slowly but surely getting closer to home. Wednesday, July 14, 2010. We caught the ferry to Mackinac Island this morning. It was a beautiful, clear day. It was actually a bit too hot and we didn't bring any sunscreen with us. We're both a little burned. We then checked into Cottage Inn, it is very quaint. We wandered up and down main street, looking in at various stores and fudge shops. There is fudge everywhere here! Friday, July 16, 2010. On the Island no more. After the ferry ride back we picked up my car and headed north to a little town named Paradise. It was too early to check into our hotel so we went up to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum that's just north of the town on Whitefish Point. Whitefish Point Light Station. Lake Point Powells: Day 2 on Mackinac Island

Thursday, July 15, 2010. Day 2 on Mackinac Island. We awoke to rain this morning but unfortunately cooler weather didn't come with it. It was pretty humid and warm. First off we went and rented bikes for the day. They were the old-timey bikes you push back on the pedals for breaks and it had a basket on the front. I liked them! Although, Shannon's seat was slightly slanted which resulted in it being not very comfortable. We ended up riding something like 17 miles today. Our transportation for the day.

Saturday, August 7, 2010. Big move to Texas! The last few weeks have flown by quickly! We were able to stop at Wyoming Cowboys War Memorial stadium. We were really impressed. The stadium is much nicer and bigger than it looks on TV. We were able to get right on the football field. The gates were wide open.
