Looked like there was about a dozen or so guys surfing. The place was a complete blown out mess, but it looked like everyone was still enjoying themselves. Lewis Pugh discusses his 1-kilometer swim at the north pole which he did to raise awareness for global warming and the affect it is having on the polar ice caps. What this guy did is truly unimaginable. I pride myself on being able to tolerate cold water, but even for myself, water below 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit is almost unbearable to swim in. I'll have to settle for bodyboarding because I want to get back into the rhythm of reading the waves before I shell out $35 to rent a longboard for the day from Casualties. The forecast is calling for 21 foot waves on Monday off a NNW wind of 39kts. Things are supposed to peak overnight Monday and diminish after that. Lake Superior Timber Framing
We are a small independent timber framing company on Lake Superiors North Shore 20 miles from Grand Marais, MN. We design, fabricate, erect and enclose timber frame buildings. Our preferred framing material is local second growth white pine, much of it logged by ourselves and all of it sawn at local saw mills. We have worked with other species of wood but find pine to be affordable, attractive and renewable with a long history as a building material in this area. Lake Superior Timber Framing.
