After reading on the net that this temple could be quite crowded during weekends, I was a little bothered, but when we reached, we found the temple was fairly empty. There were many shops selling flowers, lemons, bangles etc. We bought a garland of lemon and neem leaves and entered the temple. On the left was a putru. Snake hole) which was decked with manjal.

After a long hiatus due many different reasons, could not resist posting a photographs of a few pookalams I had the pleasure of seeing today on the occasion of Onam celebrations. Here are the Pookalams. This is right in front of our block in our colony. I saw the neighbours painstakingly arranging the flowers at 11 pm last night. This is in block opposite to our ours. Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Diwali Recipe : Adhirasam. I tried adhirasam for the first time yesterday and it came out well. I got the recipe from my mother. Rice flour (அரிசி மாவு) : 2 cups. Jaggery (வெல்லம்) : 1 1/4 cup. Cardamom powder ( ஏலக்காய் பொடி) : 1/2 tsp. Ghee (நெய்) : 3 tsp. Oil (எண்ணெய்) : for deep frying. Water (தண்ணீர்) : as required.
