Nearby a long thin wasp flew round the Sweet Peas. Of the autumn and a bit of Cormorant. Shell with some holes from a Boring Sponge. In it; that's a sponge that makes holes not an uninteresting sponge!

http://lalows.blogspot.com/2015/08/lightning-can-indeed-strike-same-place.html
Taking you to the best wildlife sites in Lancashire and beyond. Monday, 3 August 2015. Lightning can indeed strike the same place twice. The Safari has had. Arriving at Chat Alley all looked as good as it can get. There was a light offshore breeze and the sea had calmed down to little more than a rumpled carpet, there was no sun so no black shadows to confuse the issue, this was going to be a blubber-fest at last! So we scanned and scanned again hopeful that one or more of the six Bottlenosed Dolphins.

Craig Birding: February 2012
http://craigbirding.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 27 February 2012. As the week draws to a close I reflect on what has been 'one to remember'. The title of this post refers to not only the amount of new birds caught this week but also a coming of age. My 21st Birthday was mid-week with a party at the weekend therefore reasonably little effort was put in to ringing. Various outings with Heather and one with Ciaran yielded a mixed bag species wise. 1st - 8 Blue Tit. 2nd - 3 Herring Gull. 3rd - 2 Black-Headed Gull. Posted by Heather Naomi McGinty.

Ortolan Buntings are feeding youngsters, which is great news, we ringed a brood of 4 chicks last week and they luckily fledged hours before the farmer cut his grass. I was horrified to wake up to see the farmer had mown in the night. See below the open-topped nest remains. Ortolan Bunting after mowing, a sorry scene. Marsh Harrier Circus aeruginosus. Not Your Average Wildlife Watcher: 2010 Year List
http://notyouraveragewildlifewatcher.blogspot.com/p/2010-year-list.html
This page will list my personal Year List for 2010. For those that do not know what a year list is, this is when you list each species of bird you have seen throughout the year. I won't be doing what the hardcore watchers do by travelling around the country getting species added to the list, it will just be what I see when I am out and about. Keep returning to see what I have spotted. I will also try link a photograph if one was taken. 1 Cormorant - 5/01/2011 - Ribble Estuary, Preston. 21 Shoveler - 08/0...

Lancashire and Lakeland Outback Adventure Wildlife Safaris
Taking you to the best wildlife sites in Lancashire and beyond. Saturday, 17 March 2018. A bit of luck brings success. The Safari had a. Mothers' Day wander along the prom at Rossall with Wifey and Monty. The tide was well out but the distant sea as flat calm, perfect for spotting any Harbour Porpoises. That might have been out there. We saw neither but did see a large raft of Eider. Ducks but too far away to count effectively or see if there was anything else with them. Fly in and land not too far away.
