Purrlings: Sewing Cabinet Success!
http://purrlings.blogspot.com/2012/01/sewing-cabinet-success.html
A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. January 09, 2012. I’m trying to turn over a new leaf this year, with a much more consistent attempt at recording finished projects. There was a burst of productivity at the end of last year, so I’ve got lots of catching up to do to help me along! Notice the nicks along the top and inner corners). After (though a bit blurry). Dad the handy man helped me by making some custom fit shelves from some scrap wood:. Fun with fabric and spray adhesive! I had do...

Purrlings: February 2010
http://purrlings.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. February 24, 2010. I’ve been a knitting fiend lately. Every spare minute after work has been taken up by yarn. I need to keep knitting, as fast as possible, because I have 5 days left to finish this current project. Why 5? Because I need to finish before the end of the closing ceremony of the Olympics. But for now, before coverage starts again tonight? Must keep knitting . . . February 05, 2010. Old t-shirts, your days are numbered! I tend to be a keep...

Purrlings: Christmas close-call
http://purrlings.blogspot.com/2012/01/christmas-close-call.html
A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. January 03, 2012. Human, you are mistaken. This is my nest, not your fabric. This year, I should have known better when not a single ornament was drowned, taken off the tree, or disturbed in any way. She was buttering me up – for Nicholas. After searching all around and in my chair, still no needle or thread. I tried to check Nico’s mouth, but he wanted absolutely nothing to do with that, thank you very much! Moral of the story? Once cats start eating ...

Purrlings: May 2010
http://purrlings.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. May 04, 2010. Books Make a Difference. Yet many do not have that world available. Cities are shutting down libraries due to budget cuts ( Philadelphia. I'm looking at you, and you won't be the last); and families need to buy food and secure housing before such luxuries as books can come into play. So I'm supporting the Books Make a Difference. Campaign, and by spreading the word I'm donating a book. May 03, 2010. Odd reactions to stress. Now I’ve...

Purrlings: April 2010
http://purrlings.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. April 14, 2010. So, I’ve been productive lately. No, really, I have—just not on here. Last week I got the proverbial kick in the behind, when a not so mini maelstrom of craziness hit my life. First, my car stalled when I was going 70 mph down the highway, trying to get home from Easter at my parents’. Somehow I managed to muscle the steering wheel to the right (dead engine means no power steering, yay! 8221; call and a handful of other calls. They̵...

Purrlings: September 2010
http://purrlings.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. September 29, 2010. What now feels like ages ago, I finally made it to my first fiber festival. It’s really only been a few weeks, but with the way that this summer (now fall, ugh! Is going, it could have been a different year for all I know. I took an embarrassingly small number of pictures, and completely missed the sheep I almost put to sleep – turns out sheep really like getting their chins scratched! However, I did capture these a super cute dragon.

A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. June 05, 2011. Note, I’ve had this blog post in progress for almost 2 months! I never meant this to be an every day recording of crafting progress, but I had hoped to post more frequently that once a quarter. I’m just having too much fun crafting! That doesn’t mean, however, that I look gift commissions in the mouth :) A few months ago (and where is this year flying off to again? So, the (long-) finished commissions:. Pattern: Alan Dart’s Sackboy.

A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. August 25, 2010. It’s raining yarn! Well, that’s what it feels like lately in what has been a massive bit of productivity. So without further ado, the beginning of the FOs:. Slip Stitch Heel Basic Socks. By Wendy Johnson, aka the Rainbow Socks. (NB - it is really not easy to take pictures of your own feet! Yarn: Regia Hand-dye Effect, in what I think is the Sodalith colorway (ball band has vanished on me). Which is delightfully true to its name). They ...

Purrlings: I love being an aunt
http://purrlings.blogspot.com/2011/01/i-love-being-aunt.html
A home for knittery, nerdery, and feline tomfoolery. January 03, 2011. I love being an aunt. I have to confess my heart melted more than a bit at that. Six can be a hard age to please sometimes, and I love that he looks forward to things that I make for him. He and his siblings are the main recipients for the toys and fun little things that I make, and it’s a perfect excuse for me to be like a kid again and play with those toys! But back to Christmas . . . After overhearing my nephew, I took a look at th...
