New Every Morning
Reflections on worship, faith, and life from a 30-something worship leader, composer, and family man. Thursday, May 07, 2015. Why have you forsaken me? A Liturgy of Doubt, Good Friday. Inspired by the Liturgists "Garden" sequence. I developed this service for Good Friday in 2015, for Elk Grove UMC. Since our Easter Sunrise service is a joint effort with Point Pleasant UMC. New Every Morning
December 23, 2016. By Little Ol' Me. On Reading, Spelling, Wise Men, and JOY. I don’t understand why some folks continue to struggle in areas that others do not. The only thing I can come back to is the account in John 9:1-3. Where we learn that there is at least one man who was born blind specifically so that the works of God might be displayed in him. Ultimately, it’s all about God’s glory. Our daughter continues to amaze us, and we are excited to share with you some of her recent accomplishments!

Lamentations Of a Lay Man
Lamentations Of a Lay Man. Saturday, 4 July 2015. By this I mean, our natural inclination to call everybody a 'friend'. It comes so naturally to introduce anyone and everyone as a 'friend'. Lamentations of the Heart
Sunday, November 17, 2013. 10084; Chapter Eight┆ Sooner or Later. Upon hearing his request, Nalia’s mind went blank. Silence filled the air. Slowly, thoughts began mulling around in her mind, swirling, spinning, round-and-round. Suddenly aware of how close he was to her, she stood and put distance between them. A date? being kind
Monday, September 27, 2010. Before you know what kindness really is. You must lose things,. Feel the future dissolve in a moment. Like salt in a weakened broth. What you held in your hand,. What you counted and carefully saved,. All this must go so you know. How desolate the landscape can be. Between the regions of kindness. How you ride and ride. Thinking the bus will never stop,. The passengers eating maize and chicken. Will stare out the window forever.". Naomi Shihab Nye, from "Kindness" poem. Could ...
