The Land of Smiles. Thursday, February 5, 2009. Bonding with "crop-krua khong Thai". The last few days have been wonderful ones with my host family. Not that we've done anything extra special, but there have just been some good bonding moments. Two days ago, nan helped me do wash in their spring board (? One of my goals this trip is not to find out. The point of all this is to say that, through events none too extraordinary, my Thai family and I have gotten closer and I'm feeling immensely thankful.

Putting the Puzzle Together. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Here's the thing. I miss Philly tons. I miss the noise, I miss the streets, I miss the vastness and I miss the people. I belonged there*, and already it feels like last semester was a lifetime ago. The living situation provided a balance between public and private that cannot be replicated. We were just in a great community there, and I miss it. But just the opportunity to go do my old job with friends made me realize exactly how much I miss the place.
