Lancaster City Living: Traditional Neighborhood Developments (TND's)
http://lancastercityliving.blogspot.com/2008/01/traditional-neighborhood-developments.html
Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Traditional Neighborhood Developments (TND's). Traditional Neighborhood Developments (TND's) are supposed to be the wave of the future. But like a lot of things in suburbia, the concept is meeting with some pretty stiff resistance –. And, as some have said, if people want to live in traditional neighborhoods, why don’t they live in places like. A bunch of TND’s glued together, if you will. But, in a changing world, our lot is probably better cast in a city.

Lancaster City Living: Don’t Let the Green Grass Fool You
http://lancastercityliving.blogspot.com/2008/02/dont-let-green-grass-fool-you.html
Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Don’t Let the Green Grass Fool You. Sunday, February 10, 2008. Containes an article which. Challenges the assumption that just because suburban neighborhoods have lots of green landscaping that they are “green.”. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, early on in the piece, the author lays it out with the assertion that suburbs are places “built to defy nature.”. The problem, according to the article, is about more than just light bulbs,. All is not lost. Don’...

Lancaster City Living: Hmmm...City On Fire
http://lancastercityliving.blogspot.com/2008/01/hmmmcity-on-fire.html
Thursday, January 17, 2008. When people used to use words like "on fire" or "exploding" to describe Lancaster City it wasn't a good thing. They were talking about problems the city was struggling with. This isn't the case anymore. Today when people use terms like that, they are talking about the massive amount of development. What does this mean for potential buyers? I'll address that in my next post. But first, the numbers:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). James Street Improvement District.

Lancaster City Living: About First Time Homebuyers
http://lancastercityliving.blogspot.com/2008/01/about-first-time-homebuyers.html
Friday, January 18, 2008. About First Time Homebuyers. It might be that the only truism about housing is that it will become increasingly expensive as time goes by - excepting short term fluctuations, of course. This is certainly true if you are a renter. But, it is also true if you are a potential homeowner waiting to buy. Few things are as important to the first-time homebuyer than affordability. Have discovered that living close-by means. Spending less time on the road. Just the place to be.". In Lanc...

http://east-colon.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
The Colón Family Circus. Monday, November 16, 2009. Smile for the Camera! Great expectations for a lengthy blog entry over the weekend quickly dissipated as Monday rolled in much faster than expected. Really, where does the time go? I know all that most of you really care about anyway are pictures of Gabe the Babe, so I'll at least throw a few of those there for entertainment purposes. These pictures are courtesy of Gabe's teacher, Miss Wendy. Ben contemplating over a menagerie of plastic breakfast food.

The Colón Family Circus. Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Sunny Saturday in WV. Some shots from our trip to visit Jessie and Jason in WV on Saturday. Gabe telling Uncle Jason a secret. Gabe hugging his baby sister. Silly faces at the Blue Moon Cafe. Check out the concentration! Seriously though, he just likes trying to use a knife. He didn't eat a bite. Following Uncle Jason through the raspberries at Orr's Orchards. Picking Raspberries, after taste-testing of course. Catch me if you can! Come one, come all!

Wednesday, January 30, 2008. In Lancaster, 70 is the new 50. Lancaster, as it is turning out, is the place to be not only for young professionals and members of the. It is also becoming something of a hot spot for empty nesters and retirees. Trends nationally have shown that the move to a retirement community as a model for your golden years is giving way to urban living. And, why not? Life expectancies are running way ahead of what they were when the idea of retirement homes took off. About First Time H...
