Living life in Vietnam. Last weekend I went on a day trip (Huế trip…day trip…get it? He picked me up at 5:00am and we hit the road. For the road, we had a grocery bag full of water, bananas, pomelo, and crackers, but before we got out of the city, we stopped to have xôi gà on the side of the road. Xôi gà is sticky rice with chicken and herbs, and usually comes with hard boiled quail eggs and onions. It’s so delicious! Through the mountain, or drive over Hải Vân pass. Anyway, when we arrived in Huế, the f...

Living life in Vietnam. I haven’t blogged in awhile, it’s good to be back! The past few months have been a busy time, to say the least. And I got engaged. Our friends Lance and Kristen. It was great to see my family! For the rest of our time in Seattle, Pedro and I d...

Living life in Vietnam. And I went to dinner with one of his students, and a friend of hers. During dinner we heard a group of men playing guitar and singing nearby. The friend of Pedro’s student is a guitar player, and after we finished eating he went over to the group of men and asked to borrow the guitar. He returned empty-handed, but soon after the restaurant owner came to our table with a guitar. So this is my serenade:. I didn’t know it…maybe Pedro did). We were so shocked! The night was full of lo...
