Not the only conservative voice in Takoma Park, Maryland. Sunday, April 08, 2007. US Congressman Paul Hodes (D-NH) Gets Taken To The Woodshed By Some Of His Constituents! Here's a teaser for a great story I read today on a blog. Please go read the rest of the story at Granite Grok's blog. Before I got home from work tonight, Granite Grok had video of the lively meeting posted on You Tube, and a follow-up entry. Of these great patriots. I can pretty much guarantee that you will never read about them o...

A soldier's journey through a deployment to Iraq. Feel free to leave comments, but play nice! Friday, February 18, 2005. Wow, I am really gross. It has been a long while since I have showered or changed clothes! For those of you who know me well, let's put it this way - you can actually notice that I haven't shaved in a while. I look ridiculous - my facial hair kind of grows in patches at various parts of my face! We've been training for our convoy security stuff and it has been great! Holy crao I have g...

A soldier's journey through a deployment to Iraq. Feel free to leave comments, but play nice! Monday, December 13, 2004. On Power Line today has a great explanation of what most soldiers think about heading to Iraq. A Marine, Major Phelps has this to say about our mission, sacrifice and ulimately making a huge difference in the Middle East and in our own lives:. We have been met with a serious resistance in some parts of Iraq, but if we can make Iraq a better place for the Iraqi people, isn't it worth it?

A soldier's journey through a deployment to Iraq. Feel free to leave comments, but play nice! Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Hey everyone, what's up? I hope everyone is doing well! I am doing very well here in lovely scenic baghdad! I went to a different camp not too long ago where I think Saddam used to live in this ridiculous palace. There is a huge man made lake. Out front that had really blue clear water in it - it turns out that the reason it is so blue is because the bottom is made out of tile! JK When...

A soldier's journey through a deployment to Iraq. Feel free to leave comments, but play nice! Monday, January 31, 2005. Yesterday I took "550 cord" and made a sweet, high speed strap for my glasses - now they don't slip off my face! Then, a friend of mine in my tent took some microwave popcorn and tried to cook it on top of our heater/stove. It was pretty funny at first, he burned the living crap out of the bag, but eventually it started popping! Especially when there is 12 inches of snow on the ground a...

A soldier's journey through a deployment to Iraq. Feel free to leave comments, but play nice! Sunday, March 27, 2005. Guess where I am? How nice. There are some really neat things to see out here - old buildings that Saddam's government once used - most of them are pretty destroyed, but we have seen soldiers attempting to get to the top to take some pictures. I'll see if I can get some, too. The city is pretty awesome. We have real toilets! With plumbing and everything! I have recieved a ton of emails la...

Friday, December 30, 2005. Supporting the Troops in Style! A huge Hat-tip to MaryAnn of Soldier's Angels Germany. For finding and posting this story. It's so good I have to post the whole thing. I just wish I had pictures to go with it! From the Philadelphia Daily News, a story by Ronnie Polaneczky called " Here's a Yule story that ought to be a movie. AND NOW, in time for the holidays, I bring you the best Christmas story you never heard. We have to let them know we care," Vivian told Bennett. One car, ...
