I wasn't performing a solo recital, or doing a major concert with one of the "great" orchestras, or watching one of my sweet students win a competition. Thursday, September 29, 2011. New Harpist for the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. I have no idea how I actually won the audition! I just had a baby this summer (he's 3 months old now! And the night before the audition he had a really rough night. I think I had a grand total of 4 hours of sleep. I went to the audition, wanting to win, but figuring that with my brain on auto pilot there really was no point. Apparently the key to winning was being so tired I wasn't nervous.
