The Larapinta Trail runs for more than 223 kilometres across Central Australia. Tuesday, October 10, 2006. We started walking about 8:30am and it was hot already. Within 10 minutes I was stripping off a layer of clothing. The plan was to walk 31km today and I think Margreet was more confident of us achieving that than I was. But I was ready to give it a go. The initial objective was to get to Rocky Gully, about the half way point because that's where the next water was to be found. Posted by Timothy Moore.

The day after we caught a ride into Alice from Stanley Chasm, showered and relaxed, we headed back out. We rent a car, which cost about $180 including gas for the 320km we covered. We headed directly to Ormiston Gorge, where we did a three hour hike, walking back through some of the most amazing rock formations we've ever seen. The gorge also has a waterhole estimated to be 14m deep. Creek - Room 101.
