Is one of the first websites I created, back when I was learning HTML in 1998. I have expanded and rebuilt it several times since then. The newest iteration is entirely based on WordPress and features front-end user accounts, user favorites, a glossary of terms that are automatically linked to within each post, and a gallery of user-submitted content.

This page is to provide a little background on me personally. I started making websites when I was 17, my freshman year in college. I probably spent more time making websites for fun than going to class. That was 1998, and a lot has changed in web technology since then. What hasn’t changed are the basic principles of good design and the value of craftsmanship. With accessibility comes new challenges. Who do you turn to when that template breaks? How do you choose from the 20 plugins that do what you want?

Pricing and Process - Lark Labs

For small projects or ongoing work, I charge $75/hour for my time, invoiced monthly or when the unbilled amount reaches $250. If you have a large project like a new website or a major redesign, I generally write up a proposal and quote a specific flat fee so we both know what to expect. For large projects, I create a contract we both sign off on, with 30-50% of the fee paid before work starts as a down payment.
