Have bag, will travel. Monday, April 30, 2007. Hello friends, I went to register at the yoga shala today. I noticed just last week that I needed to send them an application form. It said on the website that if they didn't receive it, you would not be admitted as a student. I sent the form right away, but I had limited faith in the Indian postal system. I was nervous it wouldn't get here before I did. The AYRI (Ashtanga yoga research instiute: www.ayri.org. Is in what feels like a suburb of Mysore. It...

Have bag, will travel. Saturday, June 30, 2007. Hello friends, my trip is coming to a close. Let me be cliche and say, "what a long, strange trip it's been.". I had a good last led class today. My back is feeling much better. We'll see. I'm just glad to know it's an option. A lot could change between now and then. I decided to make my blog today interactive! How, you ask? I compiled a list of bests and worsts from my trip. I invite you to email/comment on your own categories. On to the main event:. Coole...

Have bag, will travel. Saturday, March 31, 2007. Back to the Future! Hello friends, thanks for all the nice comments while I was gone! I'm sorry to have kept you all on the edges of your seats, waiting with bated breath for my return. At least know that the trek was really fun, physically demanding, but not undo-able and I met a lot of really nice people on the way. Sorry to keep you waiting for more, but I want to do the trek justice and I just can't right now. Posted by Lauren at 7:56 AM. There's anoth...

Have bag, will travel. Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Hello friends, rather than try to find accommodation. I had delicious mango with sticky rice last night. The mango was a dream. Whenever I eat mango and sticky rice (which is as often as I can), I'm forced to think of a distant relative who could not stop exclaiming, "rice for dessert! Like she'd been served a moon rock for dessert or something, at Chang Mai Thai in Minneapolis at another unnamed relative's groom's dinner. Not much else to report. You c...

Have bag, will travel. Thursday, May 31, 2007. We didn't practice this morning, because it's a moon day. We take a rest day on the full and new moons each month because of the way they affect our energy. If you want to know more read this: http:/ www.ashtangayogacenter.com/moon.html, but it may all be Greek to you. I'm going to talk to my potential Nashville roommate on the phone this weekend. I hope it works out. I have a good feeling about it. It's only matter of time. Posted by Lauren at 1:38 AM.

http://itchyfootlauren.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Have bag, will travel. Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Hello friends, I'm reporting today from Vientiane. Vientiane Palace is a restaurant I used to go to in Madison when I was in college. I recall the food there being more delicious than the food here. I think my entries have been brief lately because I've been meeting so many people in Laos. I was lonely in Thailand, but most of the travelers in Laos are backpackers and I've met lots of fun people. Don't get stuck in the snow! Posted by Lauren at 2:52 AM.

Have bag, will travel. Friday, October 27, 2006. Has anyone ever knit the heel of a sock? I went to stitch and bitch on Tuesday night, ready to try and figure out the heel of the sock I'm working on. When I choose new knitting projects, I try to do something that will help me acquire a new skill. Well, the sock helped me acquire the skill of staring at the pattern for hours, not having any idea what it was saying. Ooops, I typed that by mistake, but I think I'll leave it as is. Freudian slip. Well, I've ...

Have bag, will travel. Friday, July 20, 2007. Hello friends, I'm back in Minneapolis after a 6 days of wedding fun in "Nash Vegas.". I'm definitely transitioning still. I've been really tired- sleeping anywhere from 10 to 12 hours a night, almost every night. This is unusual for me. Sometimes I don't give myself enough credit in recognizing transitions- I don't expect to feel tired, etc and then I'm surprised when I do. Here are some photos for your enjoyment:. Have bag, will travel. Thursday, November 30, 2006. All packed up with nowhere to go. Thanks to inclement weather, my flights have been canceled. On the plus side I'm flying out on Saturday morning rather than Monday morning, and I won't end up spending days stranded in Chicago. On the minus side, I was mentally prepared to leave tomorrow morning. It could be worse, but it's disappointing all the same. Posted by Lauren at 3:49 PM. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. I shall present the answer in picture form:.
