Thanks to Lindy's suggestion we made it back to the orphanage again this year and the students had a great time with the children. The orphanage has 140 children from infants to 19 years old. Many of the residents of this particular batey spoke only Creole and/or French, so Johnny (one of the translators) and I were able to combine our talents and help the patients who didn´t speak Spanish, too. I´ve been talking a lot about my inability to talk a lot with this language barrier in the DR, so it was a relief to be able to speak coherently with someone in the bateys! That´s all for now,.
