End of 09 school year! For Trace's last day of being in 2nd grade, Captain Gary Klushkan on the Tlingit Warrior, took Trace's class to the the Hubbard Glacier. We loaded up the car with the fixin's for dutch oven and instruments and headed to Coast Guard Point for a picnic. Lou brought her awesome ukulele and Dad brought his guitar. We sat around listening to music and ate some delicious potatoes. Saije slept all curled up on the beach and Elyse made sure we had plenty of memories caught on camera.

Trace loved the black powder guns carried by the Confederate Army (supporting Alaska Day) The gals in the golf cart were called the Coho Queens, and a gas car that was converted into an electric car (go green! And Traces favorite and the high light of our day. the US Army troop! I hope that ya'all had a great 4th.

On Sunday, our family had the pleasure of attending the Retirement ceremony for my exceptional husband Rich, after 24 years of unfaltering and dedicated service to the US Navy. It was a beautiful and meaningful ceremony filled with traditions as old as the Navy itself. If you ever have the opportunity to attend one, I highly recommend it.it is a very moving experience.
