A few months later, I read an interview with the perennially cutting-edge designer Philippe Starck. What allowed him to remain so consistently ahead of the curve? Around the same time, I noticed that those who part with $2,285 a night to stay in a cliff-top room at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur pay partly for the privilege of.

To study hard, think quietly,. To listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart;. To bear all cheerfully,. Do all bravely,. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is my symphony. Jan 14, 2013 at 5:43 pm. Laquo; Keep It Simple. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Leave a comment ». Einstein. Steve Jobs. East Coast Asset Management. Occam’s Razor. These all bear the same message, and it is one that took me over thirty years to learn. Or rather it is one that I am. To achieve more, do less. Uni. Task, not multi-task. Take something that works, and refine it further by subtracting steps from it. Keep it simple. This may be one of the most difficult things in life, but now I know that at the end of the road beauty awaits. And I will enjoy the journey tremendously.

Book #1 of 2013: Steve Jobs: Walter Isaacson. Leave a comment ». To be precise I started reading it in 2012, but it was the first book I finished in 2013. While a must-read for anyone remotely involved in technology, the life of Steve Jobs holds lessons for everyone. The book itself is very well-written; it de-mystifies the legend, yet takes nothing away from his genius. Jan 15, 2013 at 10:30 am. Laquo; My Symphony. Book #2 of 2013: Good Strategy/Bad Strategy by Richard Rumelt. Leave a comment ». Finally finished the second book of the year, and already I feel like reading it all over again. This is definitely one of the best books I’ve read, and that’s not restricted to strategy or management books. There are many valuable insights into decision-making and analysis, on thinking. But these flaws are minor; this is just simply a very good book! Mar 19, 2013 at 6:09 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Five Rules For Life.
