Clean Cut: Holy Hope For Holy Leadership
http://latterdayspence.blogspot.com/2015/03/holy-hope-for-holy-leadership.html
Cutting my own path. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Holy Hope For Holy Leadership. Modest expectations for LDS ecclesiastical leaders. This keeps me from going insane whenever I hear of so many boneheaded policies, statements, and disciplinary decisions that cause so many to express concern about leadership roulette. I love and sustain my leaders. But to quote J. Golden Kimball, "I love some a hell of a lot more than I do others.". At a 1985 press conference in Stockholm, Sweden in response to opposition to th...

Clean Cut: "How in the world in the 21st century is a church asking people not totalk openly about things?"
http://latterdayspence.blogspot.com/2015/01/how-in-world-in-21st-century-is-church.html
Cutting my own path. Friday, January 23, 2015. How in the world in the 21st century is a church asking people not to talk openly about things? I struggle to always express things gracefully and diplomatically; regardless, along with Thomas Jefferson "I. Upon the altar of god eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. So this quote from John Dehlin on the Salt Lake Tribune's "Trib Talk" really resonated with me. 29:05- 30:31 minute mark. Friday, January 23, 2015. I follow your w...
Clean Cut: On Authentic Truth and Authentic Faith
http://latterdayspence.blogspot.com/2015/07/on-authentic-truth-and-authentic-faith.html
Cutting my own path. Monday, July 20, 2015. On Authentic Truth and Authentic Faith. In 2001, Todd Compton wrote the following. Response to negative reviews about his book "In Sacred Loneliness: The Plural Wives of Joseph Smith." I find his insights extremely relevant and endorse his comments, excerpted below:. I believe that the gospel includes all truth, and all truth is part of the gospel. Monday, July 20, 2015. Authentic faith goes much deeper than knowing the truth. If I recall correctly when Jes...
Clean Cut: The Truth: ALL Families Deserve To Be Strengthened
http://latterdayspence.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-truth-all-families-deserve-to-be.html
Cutting my own path. Saturday, May 16, 2015. The Truth: ALL Families Deserve To Be Strengthened. The thirteenth Article of Faith. States "we believe in doing good to all [mankind]." I've wondered lately how many Mormons really. Believe that. I can speak only for my own beliefs, but I believe in doing good to all- men, women, children, regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation. I believe Mormons should likewise believe in doing good to families- all. Has not collectively recognized the value of all.

Life is Good: March 2009
http://adr3937a.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
It doesn't get any better than this. Thursday, March 12, 2009. I have been feeling very lucky to be LDS lately. I have thought about all of the joy that it brings in life. There are so many ways this church blessed my life. I read a quote from Gordon Hinkley once that went something like "The greatest joy a man can have in life is to see his children grow up to be rightous and responsible adults.". Links to this post. Rare Insights of a Wandering Mind: 2009 Inventory
http://echohuntress.blogspot.com/2010/01/2009-inventory.html
Rare Insights of a Wandering Mind. Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Aloha friends, it is time for an inventory of 2009:. It was pretty good! This past year I lived with a friend of mine and her family. They were so kind to take me in and allow me to live with them for about 15 months! Being with them has definitely been a blessing in my life. I learned about peace and Charity and how to be more selfless, all very important qualities of a happy home! How rad is that? Lots of things happened last year, good and s...
Rare Insights of a Wandering Mind: Travels
http://echohuntress.blogspot.com/2009/08/travels.html
Rare Insights of a Wandering Mind. Friday, August 14, 2009. So I thought I had nothing interesting to blog about now that I've retired from the social scene of school. But I just remembered that I went to Big Island with my awesome friend Lora. Here's a little summary of events of that weekend. A lot of fun things happened. It rained while we did our tour of Akaka Falls and a lot of other places that I'm not remembering without taking pictures. The first incident of "I can't believe this happened" was wh...
The Adventure Continues: A wonderful neighbor
http://kenpatterson.blogspot.com/2014/12/a-wonderful-neighbor.html
Some of Life's Adventures. Saturday, December 13, 2014. As we were getting acquainted I mentioned that I went to UW to dental school. Jim informed me that he and his wife are ardent Washington State Cougars. Of course the two schools are strong rivals in everything athletic. It was not much longer into the conversation that I mentioned that I am LDS, he mentioned that he is Catholic and not interested in becoming LDS, and that he is a fervent Democrat. He has always thanked me for calling him. He and Ron...
Live..Laugh..Love: October 2010
http://susiecay.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 8, 2010. My sweet Grandma passed away yesterday. When I got the news I had a good long cry, talked with my husband and my sister, and spent the rest of the evening thinking about all the good times I shared with her. She was such a good woman and I learned so many things from her simply by observing how she lived her life. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pacific Northwest, United States. Wife, Mother of 3. Monday, February 21, 2011. These are the cute valentines Montana made. She wrote "You can count on me when things get sticky". Heart shaped potato I found and cooked for my valentine. Along with flank steak, salad, cauliflower, and sparkling cider. Delicious heart shaped flourless chocolate torte. Montana set the table and put this confetti around each plate. After dinner I went upstairs and found this on my door. And this on my bed. Saturday, February 12, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Life is Good: Health Care for All
http://adr3937a.blogspot.com/2009/08/health-care-for-all.html
It doesn't get any better than this. Thursday, August 20, 2009. Health Care for All. I can understand that side. It tugs at your heartstrings. It makes you think yes, why not? But when I think about it more it makes less sense to me. Here are just a few of the reasons. 1 - How is our country going to be able to sustain the cost of this Obama's Healthcare program? 2 - Is Obama Care going to make our health care better? The Life of an LDS West Point Cadet. Should we not go on in so great a cause? Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Thoughts from the Grey. Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though;. He will not see me stopping here. To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer. To stop without a farmhouse near. Latter Day Sparks
The latter day life and times of Sparkey the Dog. Monday, September 02, 2013. Well, today marks seven years since Sparkey left his old, tired body, and we still think of him so often. Meanwhile, Tina's first death anniversary is only a few weeks away on September 22nd, and we wonder how they're both getting along in the spirit world. Do they play together? Do they even see each other? Did Sparkey greet her and guide her when she first left this world for the next? In a few weeks, we'll honor and mark the...

Cutting my own path. Friday, November 20, 2015. Why I Love the LDS Church Enough to Both Criticize It AND Step Away From It. In March (2015), on the 50th Anniversary of "the March" in Selma, Alabama, President Barack Obama delivered a masterful speech. With the Edmund Pettus Bridge as a backdrop. He captured the spirit of America and the importance of drawing inspiration from specific episodes of our history to better shape the present. I especially love this quote:. A lot of cultures set limits on how m...
