The Littlest Whitaker: November 2008
http://littlewhitaker.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
A journal of the growth of Frances Wren. Friday, November 14, 2008. The Milestones come fast. The day before yesterday, Wren laughed for the first time! It was so cute and was sort of goofy sounding. And just five minutes ago, she turned over for the first time! And, I missed it! I put her down for tummy time, and then the phone rang. I answered it and turned away for 3 seconds, and when I turned back, she was smiling up at me from her back! Monday, November 10, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Littlest Whitaker: Month Seven
http://littlewhitaker.blogspot.com/2009/03/month-seven.html
A journal of the growth of Frances Wren. Monday, March 30, 2009. Hello, Love. I have to say: what a difference a month makes. At your six-month birthday, I was really in the "depths of despair", to quote one of my favorite literature heroines. But, for the past week, your sleeping has shown such a marked improvement that I'm almost afraid of saying it out loud for fear of jinxing it. And, finally, one night, I didn't have to put in the earplugs. Because you never woke. On to other topics:. It is really c...

The Littlest Whitaker: September 2009
http://littlewhitaker.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
A journal of the growth of Frances Wren. Saturday, September 26, 2009. Month Twelve and Thirteen. As you can see, I'm about a month late writing your letter, so I'll have to combine two months in one. I think part of the reason I am so late writing your twelve-month letter is that I'm sort of in denial. I don't want to admit that you're no longer a baby, and now you're a toddler! Your first birthday party was a hit. You had a beautiful little dress and party hat, which you enjoyed wearing! I spent a lot ...

The Littlest Whitaker: January 2009
http://littlewhitaker.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
A journal of the growth of Frances Wren. Tuesday, January 6, 2009. You are now 4 months old, and can't believe how the time is flying! You just celebrated your first Christmas, and it was so much fun. You got tons of toys and even more love, hugs and kisses from all the relatives we spent time with. Your dad got tickled at you trying to eat him one day and said you looked like a zombie-baby going after some brains! I think you're way cuter than a zombie.). You've also started "talking" again. for a w...

The Littlest Whitaker: Month Six (and eighteen days)
http://littlewhitaker.blogspot.com/2009/03/month-six-and-eighteen-days.html
A journal of the growth of Frances Wren. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Month Six (and eighteen days). I started writing your 6-month letter the day after your 6-month birthday, but I didn't get to finish it before life kicked me in the butt again, so that is why I'm only now getting around to your letter. As I said, I usually break down at an hour. It is so miserable, Wren. I love you so much, but night after night, I am sure that whatever I do, I'm doing the "wrong" thing. And no one, NO ONE alive ...I hat...

The Littlest Whitaker: May 2009
http://littlewhitaker.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
A journal of the growth of Frances Wren. Monday, May 4, 2009. A few days ago, you turned 8 months old. Your eighth month was full of many exciting developments, including learning to crawl and pulling up and "saying" a few distinguishable words. You are still sleeping fairly well at night, with intermittent bouts of crying and wakefulness here and there. But, it is manageable. I've started exercising again (hooray! But I figure it will be a while before you can manage that. This mother's day, I think I w...

The Littlest Whitaker: Month Eleven
http://littlewhitaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/month-eleven.html
A journal of the growth of Frances Wren. Sunday, August 2, 2009. Yet again, I am late in writing this letter to you. You would think that I would see a pattern and begin writing these several days before your birthdate, but I always seem to let it slip past . What a beautiful girl you are! Your curiosity is also intense right now, and you point to just about everything and ask intently, "Dat? Meaning, "What is THAT? The little suction-bulb thingy only goes so far. Honest to goodness, walking! It is so ex...
