The experiences of a twenty-something teaching (and learning) in South Korea. Thursday, November 24, 2011. There is this neat little highly-commercialized holiday that falls on November 11 of each year in South Korea. This holiday is Pepero Day. Apparently the date (11/11) resembles four sticks of Pepero. Sure it does. As far as I am concerned, it is the most contrived holiday I've ever experienced (albeit a great excuse to eat candy! Tuesday, November 15, 2011. What are you doing this weekend? The experiences of a twenty-something teaching (and learning) in South Korea. Monday, October 31, 2011. Next Stop, Daejeong. The following was written at around 11:30 am on October 30. Today didn’t go quite as I had planned…. I knew it was going to be hard leaving all of my orientation group members, saying goodbye to the Academic Office Staff, and traveling to a new place. However, I thought I was going to be one of the lucky few that didn’t have to be alone on their way to the unknown. When I left for ...

Bring on the Kimchi!!: December 2011

http://lindseyworldtraveler.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Bring on the Kimchi! Reflections of a Missionary as She Travels the World. Friday, December 30, 2011. Christmas Party with Missionary Teachers. Not too long ago, many teachers met in Daejeon for a Christmas party. Teachers traveled from Seoul and other areas to celebrate the holiday. Some Korean students attended the party as well. On the way to the party I was craving some American party food. I didn't know what to expect at this event but when I arrived I found. Interesting and humorous heating unit.

Bring on the Kimchi! Reflections of a Missionary as She Travels the World. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. The Most Unique Aquarium I've Ever Seen. The title says it all! Korea has some creative ideas I've never thought of. I have mixed views on what I saw. The aquarium in Seoul is quite unique. You will see why. It starts out with fish tanks similar to that of American aquariums. It wasn't until I walked further through the exhibits that I experienced something new. Look closely at the pictures! Schools of fish ...

Notice it says "Body Worlds". From Daejeon to Seoul for the Weekend! We visited the Seoul Lantern Festival for 2011. I was very impressed to see the creativity and detail in these lanterns. On the way to the festival we saw lots of Christmas and winter season lights. In the background there are red and blue lanterns.

Bring on the Kimchi! Reflections of a Missionary as She Travels the World. Monday, April 2, 2012. A Trip to the Countryside! Most of my time in Korea has been spent in a city environment. However, there are many parks near by and mountains are not too far away. I don't see much countryside or farm land other than when riding to another big city. The country of Korea is 70% mountains and much of the rest is city. It reads, "We make outstanding Korea.". During our trip we had to stop at a jimjilbang! The k...

Confessions of an Asian Food Addict: September 2009

http://iluvasianfood.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 18, 2009. Today was an eventful one in the realm of Asian food experiences. Early on I found myself with quite the craving for Thai food, and rounded up the usual subjects to accompany me to the nearest provider of Siamese cuisine. My mouth was watering with anticipation as I daydreamt of tofu, peanut sauce, lemon juice, and curry. Then again, perhaps I am in the mood for Kow Pad.). After much deliberation, I settled upon my old standby, Pad Thai with vegetables. View my complete profile.

God Must Have a Sense of Humor: Platypus?

http://godlaughstoo.blogspot.com/2007/09/platypus.html

Saturday, September 29, 2007. I'm convinced God has a sense of humor. How else would you explain the duck-billed platypus? Or, for that matter, me? Me: Are you ready to make your order? Group of fairly-hot guys: Yeah. they all look at each other and giggle (yes, they giggled). Me: Okay, what can I get for you tonight? Fairly-hot guy #1: We have a question for you. Fairly-hot guy #2: Yeah.we wanted to know if you're, like, Italian or something. Me: It's the nose, isn't it? Group of fairly-hot guys: NO!

Meine Organisation - Stepin. Donnerstag, 4. Juli 2013. Angekommen in Australien ♥.
