A Long Yarn: My Birthday Trip
http://longyarn.blogspot.com/2015/06/my-birthday-trip.html
So, two weekends ago I passed another birthday and my fella took me on a little trip to celebrate. I gather from rumour and hearsay that planning weekend getaways to celebrate the occasions of loved ones is a common occurrence. Well, in my first 50 years on this planet, such trouble had never been taken for me. Imagine my delight, my gratitude, my happiness. It was a simple trip. We decided to visit Kingston. T. Hough we didn't know each other back then,. The pizza oven at the winery. Yvette is a knitter...

A Long Yarn: Sock Went On A Walk
http://longyarn.blogspot.com/2015/07/sock-went-on-walk.html
Sock Went On A Walk. Being a cool and lovely evening, I took myself out for a brisk walk. My current sock project came along. It's Ann Budd's Diagonal Ribbed Sock knitted in a discounted yarn from Romni's sale basement. It's been a delightful and quick portable project. This is especially welcome after the length and difficulty of my last sock project. The diagonal ribbing of the title is making a nice clingy fabric that promises to be a pleasant wear. A Long Yarn: Pink Lace? Me?
http://longyarn.blogspot.com/2015/07/pink-lace-me.html
Piperita by Andi Satterlund. Modification: Plain garter stitch substituted for the original scalloped edge. Is particularly lovely and I know I will make it again. I also love using up yarn scraps. This pair used up a plum sized ball of Opal yarn leftover from socks knit years ago. I think I may never buy glove specific stash again. I've more than enough small bundles stored away to keep my hands warm for years. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Toronto, Ontario, Canada. View my complete profile.

My Year in Crafting 2016. December 29, 2016. I have been sewing and spinning and knitting for years, but this was my first year blogging everything I made. Along the way it has been about having the record, and sharing my thoughts through the process of making a wardrobe at home. Today looking back at what I created this year I am realizing that I accomplished more than I give myself credit for. And 2 items you'll see next year. 1 decor item: Advent Garland. 9 garments: Candy Plaid Out and About Dress.

There are cat kits too. New colours of Noro Kureyon. Lots of brights. Perfect for the Log Cabin Afghan. There is a new yarn from Malabrigo - Mechita.

A Really Good Yarn: March 2015
http://areallygoodyarn.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
A Really Good Yarn. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Beth has been busy playing with Classic Elite's Santorini. The scarf is an adaptation of Classic Elite's Diagonal Summer Scarf pattern. She used 4 balls of Santorini but we think that 3 would be more than enough. Beth chose colour 2130, 2148 and 2 balls of 2188. After much debate (actually I just handed them to her) she used 4.5mm needles. We have a neat kit coming very soon from Dream in Color. Fingers crossed in the next two weeks. 100% superwash merino wool.
