Monday, 19 May 2008. Ok guys so this is the blog I've set up to try and keep everyone up to date with what I'm doing and where I'm going. I'm going to try my best to write in it every few days but I can't make any promises :). As most of you know I'm heading to Haiti on the 1st of june (less than 2 weeks now - YIKES! For 7 weeks. At the moment I'm trying to get packed and making lists lists and more lists! I'm panicking slightly just at the thought of it! Have to put that on my list!

Thursday, 3 July 2008. Ok so first of all can i say sorry mummy! I had a patient yesterday afternoon (how wierd does that sound! There was a car crash around lunch time and we spent most of the afternoon suturing the huge deep gash on the back of his hand (including an artery! Alot of the time we subsidise or pay for the x-rays). I'm told that Labadee is the only beach in Haiti that cruise ships dock. One really cool thing I saw was called Dragon's Breath. It's at the tip of the peninsula where there are rock formations, and wind blows through some holes in the rocks and sounds like a dragon breathing. I'll post a video when I get a chance. Taking weights and temperatures, giving vaccines, etc. Amy. Consulted patients (mostly babies today) together as they have been doing this week. I shadowed Dr. Rodney. This morning, so I got to see sick patients. Including babies. We saw one 8-month old girl. Who weighed a mere 5kg. Which is way below normal.
