MEK's Meanderings
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-write-like-h.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. I found this on Facebook thanks to Marius whose blog can be found here http:/ mariuscorner.blogspot.co.uk/. He was happy with his writing style being likened to the great Arthur C Clarke. By Mémoires, journal software. I have to admit I was pretty chuffed with Lovecraft. Though I assure you I differ greatly in mindset towards other things! Posted by Mary F. Woah Depending on what I posted for analysis, I write like H.P. Lovecraft, Arthur C. Clarke, and James Joyce!

MEK's Meanderings: February 2012
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Takings Steps @ Oldham Coliseum Theatre. This was the final play on my current season ticket. Also the first one to be housed in the theatre's temporary home of The Grange Arts Centre. I wasn't sure this was going to be a play for me, the word farce had me a little worried. Some farce tickles my laughter nerve, a lot more leaves me cold. Each character had hilarious moments. How the cast kept a straight face is beyond me. Certainly the audience was doubled up. He alerted his...

MEK's Meanderings: Remaking Robocop? SPOILERS GALORE
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2014/02/remaking-robocop-spoilers-galore.html
Sunday, February 9, 2014. When I first heard of this remake I was slightly worried. I'm a big fan of the original film and couldn't think of a reason it needed to be remade. This is a film for our time. Compared to the original it has to be longer with more of an emotional arc. Hence the extra scenes concerning wife and family. Scenes I could live without. If there was no comparison piece I would probably have enjoyed this much more. I went in with my negative 'what's the need? 2 pawprints out of 5.

MEK's Meanderings: December 2011
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 5, 2011. I Need a Little More Help. You may have seen my post about the reading challenge I have set myself for 2012. The post can be found here. I have had many, may replies for which I am very grateful. I still have a few categories which I'm bereft or low on suggestions for though. This is the one I'm most eager to get into as I am really at a loss here. Novels Set In or Around Manchester. I can probably find books in my local library for this but a recommendation is always sweeter.

MEK's Meanderings: September 2011
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. Tome Time - Sweet Mandarin by Helen Tse. Started September 2nd, finished September 3rd. This was the second of my holiday reading books in September. I went away fro a quiet week with my friend to chill, read and test out the restaurants. The story passes along the generations and leads to the sisters who now own and run a thriving, modern restaurant in my favourite part of Manchester. I won't tell you any more as I think this book should be discovered for yourself. Appare...

http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 10, 2013. This was a nice idea I stole from a blog I follow adammstone.wordpress.com. It's just 3 quick questions. Please play along by leaving a reply with yours. I'm very nosy! What are you currently reading? The latest Bernie Gunther novel, Field Grey by Philip Kerr. I was a bit unsure of this series when I started but I'm so glad I stuck with it. What have you just finished reading? What do you think you'll read next? And it has to be read! Posted by Mary F. Subscribe To This Blog.

MEK's Meanderings: March 2012
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 2, 2012. This Sunday t'other half and I made a trip to Blackpool to cheer on our running club mates in the Great North West Half Marathon. We had lots to cheer about as our club had the highest turnout and took second and third place along with a massive amount of PBs. All in all, I won't be rushing back to Lancashire's most famous coastal town. Posted by Mary F. Thursday, March 1, 2012. This was always going to be a hard film for me to judge. Due to my dislike for the title character.
