Heart Open to God: January 2015
http://heartopentogod.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Heart Open to God. Sharing my experiences with God through my reflections on life. Saturday, January 17, 2015. 8220;The Lord bless you and keep you;. The Lord make his face shine on you. And be gracious to you;. The Lord turn his face toward you. And give you peace.”. This is one of my favorite Bible verses. The thought of the Lord blessing and keeping me, just warms my heart. Makes me smile. It is physical. I can feel it. God Sunshine. Hope. Peace. Blessings. Sunday, January 4, 2015. I'm reminded of col...

Heart Open to God. Sharing my experiences with God through my reflections on life. Saturday, February 25, 2012. Real Life versus your Virtual Life. Well the new big thing is Pinterest. I was reluctant to get sucked into another time consuming internet group. After seeing my girls "pinning" cool things to their bulletin boards though, I have to admit, I was intrigued. I now have 16 boards and 503 pins. Can you imagine a room with 16 large bulletin boards that will hold 503 thumb tacked images? I have to s...

Heart Open to God. Sharing my experiences with God through my reflections on life. Thursday, June 7, 2012. Last summer my sister had some wild cats living under her house. My brother-in-law caught two of them for us to look at. One was Siamese and the other was solid black. They finally came out of the bathroom and explored the house. We named the Siamese one, Tango, and the black one, Obie. Are we loving others and maybe making a huge impact in their lives or are we hoarding our love for later? Take you...
Heart Open to God: May 2012

Heart Open to God. Sharing my experiences with God through my reflections on life. Tuesday, May 8, 2012. The last few days my devotions have been about prayer. One devotion got me thinking about how some of my prayers are recited instead of specific. When I pray for the same people or situations over and over I have a tendency to ask God for the same things. How do I mix it up? How do I make my prayers specific and yet pray for some of the same people every day? But, I could pray for:. Monday, May 7, 2012.
Heart Open to God: Evening Came First
http://heartopentogod.blogspot.com/2015/01/evening-came-first.html
Heart Open to God. Sharing my experiences with God through my reflections on life. Friday, January 2, 2015. And there was evening and there was morning - the first day. Evening came before morning. I always think of evening coming at the end of the day but the Bible says evening came first. It makes me think differently about the day. If evening is first, maybe the day really starts at noon, goes to evening, goes through the night to morning and ends at noon the next day. View my complete profile. These ...
Heart Open to God: Breathe
http://heartopentogod.blogspot.com/2015/01/breathe.html
Heart Open to God. Sharing my experiences with God through my reflections on life. Sunday, January 4, 2015. Breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. What a picture - God breathing life into Adam. Was it a gentle puff of air or a strong burst? Was it short or long? Did Adam just start breathing or did he sputter and cough? I wonder if Adam tried to reject the air. Or did rejection come along with self recognition after the fall? I tend to think he just accepted God's breath and turned pink and alive.

10 Reasons Not To Become a Missionary (Written by Laura Parker). January 10, 2013. 1 Don’t Become a Missionary if You Think You Are Going to Change the World. First, high expectations doom to disappoint, but, also, maybe your desire to change the world is trumping your desire to serve. Ask yourself if you would be happy moving overseas to a much harsher environment in order to quietly help a local, while getting no recognition and seeing no fruit in the process. If you can answer honestly. Westerners hav...

Life is Not Fair. I have occasionally heard my children say those 3 little words, “ It’s not fair. 8221; I tend to give them the same answer my mom gave me. “ No one ever promised you that life would be fair. 8221; Recently I have decided to add a little something to my answer. Missions {good, bad, ugly}. March 4, 2015. The Truth is a slippery son-of-a-gun. It’s like one of those water wiggler snakes. I got for one of my middle school birthdays. It seemed a chintzy gift– a tube of rubber with water inside– until I held it in my awkward hands. I’d have it firmly in my grip, settled, sure. Then I’d turn my attention elsewhere for just a millisecond and –. Me, and I soul-core know it to be true. I talk to Matt about battle and Kingdom-advancing. About life as the battle of Normandy.

Kevin and Melissa are the sort of people that I photograph and immediately after want to be best friends with. Not only are they a gorgeous couple but I can say after spending an afternoon with them they have personalities to match. With a destination wedding in Lake Como, Italy (! I have no doubt their upcoming nuptials are going to be jaw dropping. It was really hard to pick only a few gems from this session because they were all keepers! So grab a cup of coffee and enjoy! And it never ever disappoints...

Monday, May 12, 2014. Baby Got Back Problems. This summer, I am taking a huge step forward in my life. After five years of living in New York City, I am moving back to Los Angeles. After years of chasing one singular dream, I am opening myself up to new aspirations and opportunities. I would be eagerly anticipating this new life, but one thing seems to be holding me back…my back. Two weeks ago, I stopped reminiscing about the experience and started reliving it. My body was mimicking its last trauma.
