Thursday, December 17, 2009. End of the Semester! I fully intend to ACTUALLY resurface here, and I'm so excited! I feel like I have so much to tell you about, but really, read the post I just did about the comps exam, and you'll know where I've been the last. well, the last 6 months at LEAST. Let me just say, I am so relieved to have that test behind me! And, since this is my blog, a place to discuss my thoughts, I have to share with you that it was actually kind of fun. Four hour test? We'll return to C...

Tuesday, February 09, 2010. Today we had a snow day! Matthew and I both got to stay home! The University was closed and the post actually closed down too. 2 weeks ago we had a bigger storm, but it happened over the weekend, so we didn't get to have any days off like so many others (mainly the local school districts. I think since the beginning of 2010 they've had six snow days, and I'm really not kidding about that. And yes, we've had TWO storms, both of which yielded about 4-6 inches). We have really en...

Monday, November 16, 2009. SO this is really not going to give you much information other than to say I do still exist. I am, somehow, managing my first teaching job, my toughest semester of classes, and preparing to take my comprehensive exam on December 5th that determines whether I get my degree or not. Oh, and I'm still human, having fun, periodically relaxing, and even threw my first baby shower this past weekend! I'll check in again, most likely post-test and finals. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, May 31, 2010. On the 20th of May, the Brigade cased its colors. This means they place the flags of each battalion and of the brigade in a casing, and then they are taken to where they will be flown next (Afghanistan). This picture is of all the battalions in formation (you can only see two of them, and they are only partial representations of the battalions). The Sergeant Major and the Commander of the brigade casing the brigade colors. This is 2-502, just after their colors are cased. In the fir...

Pressing on Toward the Goal: I Am There
http://laurenpress.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-am-there.html
Pressing on Toward the Goal. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." -Galatians 6:9. Friday, August 15, 2008. A dear friend sent me this and it reminded me that Jesus is here with me. Do you need me? You cannot see me. Yet I am the light you see by. You cannot hear me. Yet I speak through your voice. I am at work though you do not understand my ways. I am at work though you do not recognize my works. I am not strange visions. I am your a...

The Law and Grace. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace." -Romans 6:14. He even prays to God for help to put him behind bars saying, "so it is written on the doorway to paradise that those who falter and those who fall must pay the price.". Our Father God, we often think t...

Pressing on Toward the Goal. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." -Galatians 6:9. Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? God, we have an aversion to your holiness that keeps us from spending time with you. We take for granted the privilege that prayer is and choose our own endeavors not understanding that prayer is the lifeblood of ...

Pressing on Toward the Goal. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." -Galatians 6:9. Sunday, March 17, 2013. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior, from there, The Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious." -Philippians 3:20-21. What a truth for us to realize! O death where is thy sting?
