Rose-Colored Glasses | Aunt Beulah

Living well to age well. Who is Aunt Beulah? Lessons for Life Learned in a Garden. Touch the Past →. Posted by Aunt Beulah. The more you remember about your childhood, the happier it must have been. I don’t remember the credentials, if any, of the person who authored this idea; but the notion stuck with me, and I ponder it from time to time. Dad’s temper could flare alarmingly at inanimate objects and recalcitrant animals. Mom weary from babies, refereeing, cleaning, and cooking sometimes issued shar...

Neighborhood Potluck | Going the Distance
https://trinalambert.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/neighborhood-potluck
About Trina’s Writing. Why “Going the Distance”. August 10, 2015 in Creativity. C) 2015 Christiana Lambert. We tend to amble around without a pattern, especially to keep the puppy from thinking he knows where we are going. Why should he be any different than we are? Even if we choose to walk the dogs to a specific place in order to complete an errand, we don’t often choose the same path. We set off on an expotition in the words of Winnie the Pooh and friends. Potluck that’s what we get here, without the ...

Why Personal Writing | Going the Distance
https://trinalambert.wordpress.com/why-personal-writing
About Trina’s Writing. Why “Going the Distance”. Trina, Echo Mountain, July 2009 (c) CBL. It took me a very long time to join the blogging world. I had been journaling pretty consistently, by hand no less, for over ten years, when I began in Fall of 2008. I am a belly-button gazer extraordinaire. However, as a writer who has published both research-based objective works, as well as very personal essays, I wanted to make sure any public blogging made sense for my professional reputation. Good personal wri...

Convicted | Going the Distance
https://trinalambert.wordpress.com/2015/08/12/convicted
About Trina’s Writing. Why “Going the Distance”. August 12, 2015 in Life. C) 2011 Sherman Lambert. Let’s talk about convictions. Just because someone has a conviction different from yours does not mean that person is devious. And just because someone hears evidence in a different way than you do does not mean there is an agenda personal or larger. And yet that’s exactly part of the whys behind the checks and balances designed into the judicial system because some decisions are too big for majority rule.

Experience Beyond Writing | Going the Distance
https://trinalambert.wordpress.com/experience-beyond-writing
About Trina’s Writing. Why “Going the Distance”. C) 1998 Trina Lambert. Before you decide I belong solely in the writer/editor box, remember that writers are observers and learners. We pay attention, often seeing both the forests and the trees. Then we gather up what we have discovered from our observations and research in order to tell the stories of those forests and trees, through tools such as words, structure, facts, and anecdotes. Though my background may sound fairly random, the specific positions...

Why “Going the Distance” | Going the Distance
https://trinalambert.wordpress.com/why-going-the-distance
About Trina’s Writing. Why “Going the Distance”. Why “Going the Distance”. Why Going the Distance was my final answer . . . I think too much. Sometimes I can’t make a decision for months, but then when the answer comes, I know in my gut that it’s the right one. Not bad for an ISTJ (that’s Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging in Myers-Briggs personality typing.). So what seems like an intuitive decision for me is actually based on a long list of things that prove to me anyway why I make the choice.
