Chatelaine | On Beads and Needles

On Beads and Needles. September 19, 2016. Finally – FALL! I didn’t think Autumn would ever get here – this summer was hot! Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hot out there, and yesterday was the first rain we’ve had in at least 2 weeks, but the cool nights and blue-sky-forever days are coming (assuming we don’t segue right into winter). My favorite time of year! And you know what that means – Halloween! MAN I wish the boys were still little – Home Depot has a zillion animatronic skeletal creatures. I gotta s...

Better Late Than Never | On Beads and Needles

On Beads and Needles. July 17, 2015. Better Late Than Never. Yeah, was going to do this Monday – and here it is Friday, so that may tell you what kind of week this has been. Between funerals, shut-down interstates, and dementia, let’s just say, I’m DONE. But since I was last here, this:. Shooting blind – not something I get to practice often. And we only had 6 to practice with, now that the big boomers are legal here (which at least 2 dogs here are NOT at all cool with). I do wonder at the two bars of li...
Glendon Place | On Beads and Needles

On Beads and Needles. Tag Archives: Glendon Place. August 23, 2015. Monsoon Season – an Update. I don’t know about where you are, but Holy Buckets, Batman! It has rained and rained here for over a week, inches a day! We needed it, I can’t complain, but WOW, can we spread it out a little bit? Needless to say, this was not a good week for my head. But the peppers should be happy, and the lantana should go crazy, now when the hummers are about to get into their migration preparations. 2 weekends ago, when I...

On Beads and Needles. June 5, 2016. Summer Begins – an Update. There won’t be much stitching in this post, as what I’ve worked on for the last few weeks is top-secret for fall and winter exchanges. So instead, this one’s going to be photo-heavy, and I’ll just tell you now, you will wish you had the Smell-O-Vision app installed, because:. For the first time ever, all of my gardenias are blooming AT THE SAME TIME! They are literally bent over onto the ground with so many blooms! May 10, 2016. Last time, I ...

On Beads and Needles. August 6, 2015. Oy, It’s HOT! Enough with the humidity already! In stitching news, I have FINALLY completed the pink flower on my travel piece, Vickery’s Dragonflies! AND – have moved on to the blue-violet one, which has 333 and 3740 as two of its colors. It’s actually more purple than I thought it was going to be, which is never a bad thing. Here’s the progress after 1-2 IHOPs and the July PINS get together:. And then, the landscape panel that goes with:. I forget now…. I havenR...
A Break in the Heat – an Update | On Beads and Needles
http://rifestitch.jaysez.org/2015/07/a-break-in-the-heat-an-update.html
On Beads and Needles. July 1, 2015. A Break in the Heat – an Update. Well, the swelter finally broke this past weekend, after a couple of weeks of temps in the high 90s and 8000% humidity; this past Sunday was wonderful, mid-80s and low humidity and blue sky forever. We have had more rain this week, with more in the forecast this week, but after the storms that tore through here last week, meh, what’s a little rain at this point? I got to play tourist a week ago and go to the Georgia Aquarium. So, to the...

Blog to check for homework and assignments from Spanish 2 at Community. Martes, 18 de septiembre de 2012. After several years of using a blog, I am going to try to move everything over to edmodo so that I don't have to maintain two sources of information. Edmodo is like Facebook but for school and classes. It allows me to link documents and assignments which is something I can't do here. If you've never used it before, please click on the link to ask for an invitation to our group and the site. Noticias ...

Laurel’s Studio
Where I share what I'm cooking, knitting, quilting, reading, photographing, and so on. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Beginning today, August 26, 2014, I have begun blogging at Wordpress. The reason for this is that I have been hearing from some of my email subscribers that Feedburner has not been sending them email notifications of new blog posts, like it's supposed to. So, going forward, my blog can be found at laurelsstudio.wordpress.com. Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Impressions of Sweden: Odds and Ends.
About Laurel
Welcome to my website! It showcases a variety of projects I have designed and produced. The majority of my work has has been in print design, production, and illustration. However, I have also explored Flash, web design and development, and 3-D modeling through coursework in the visual communications department at Shoreline Community College. Since the spring of 2012, I have been designing and producing original craft patterns, available through craftsy.com. Here, I get to be creative.
