http://laureninliberia.blogspot.com/2011/07/foundlost-pet.html
A rambling blog that offers a view of what life is like in Monrovia, Liberia in 2011. Tuesday, July 26, 2011. I have a new "pet." His name is Leonardo, and he is a lizard. Leonardo lives in my room near the dehumidifier and runs whenever I enter the room.too bad he won't run outside of the room. He is (surprisingly) adorable. So, I guess it's okay that he won't leave. I'm getting used to him. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Once upon a time in.Bong County. Journey to the Center of Zwedru. 1 ...

With one week until my departure, I'm in the process of practice packing. It probably sounds like a weird idea, but I'm trying to make sure all the things I need fit in my suitcases. I would hate to find out that my shoes (or toiletries! Don't fit in my bags. I really, really, really wish I had a professional packer.is there such a thing? The Liberian Professional Netw...

A rambling blog that offers a view of what life is like in Monrovia, Liberia in 2011. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Leaving for Liberia - Part 1. I leave for Liberia two weeks from Thursday! As the time grows closer, I'm even more excited about going to Monrovia. I've heard mixed reviews, but I'm an optimist, so I think it's going to be fun! Going overseas for any period of time takes a lot of preparation, so I'll start by sharing how I'm getting ready for the 10 week visit. 2 Immunizations: I received 10 (!
Living in Liberia: This too is Liberia

A rambling blog that offers a view of what life is like in Monrovia, Liberia in 2011. Monday, July 11, 2011. This too is Liberia. A couple of posts from the last month. Saturday was an absolute blast! The night started off with a farewell party at the Embassy. What can I say? Besides attending private parties, hanging out in Monrovia includes eating out at restaurants. Monroe’s Chicken, on Randall Street, is the only fastfood restaurant in Monrovia (as far as I know). The restaurant, which is n...Awesome...

Living in Liberia
A rambling blog that offers a view of what life is like in Monrovia, Liberia in 2011. Thursday, August 11, 2011. The city that never sleeps. In my last post. I mentioned that it takes four days (3 nights) to travel to and from Zwedru. The first and last nights are spent in Ganta, Liberia's New York City. Located near the Liberia-Guinea border, Ganta is known as "the city that never sleeps," and it lives up to that name. What are they doing? Where are they going? We strolled through the market - closed be...

Lauren In London | Our Year in London!
Our Year in London! We’ve Moved to London! Redford Family Holiday Part 1. May 21, 2015. Back in late March, Sarah and James came to visit us! We had them up and going the whole day, and they were champs! Especially Sarah who didn’t sleep well on the plane. We went straight into the City and saw Buckingham Palace, Green Park, and some pubs (we saw the insides of them too). We ate at Bread Street Kitchen. Recommended to us by the Martins, and it was DELICIOUS! The next day, we were off to Versailles! James...

Lauren in London
A blog to keep in touch with my family (and other random stragglers) while I'm living on the other side of the world. (From Australia. An Australian in London? Wednesday, 25 February 2009. Things I will miss about London. Let's start with something obvious. Red phone boxes. Any cuisine, any time (pictured: North African). Daffodils on the street. Tate Modern (and Tate Britain). Moss on my neighbour's brick wall. The mosaics at Tottenham Court Road. How my street becomes an explosion of colour in May.

My Silver Lining
Monday, November 28, 2011. Well this roadtrip was a little different. I was driving alone, and I was driving in this:. I know. But, this boat on wheels, lovingly referred to by its former owner as "the Blue Pearl," is actually a pretty comfy and luxurious ride! And thanks to Portland's commitment to all things organic and local, I was saved from a 12-hour death by fast food, and picked up some snacks from Trader Joe's. Sunday, November 27, 2011. Promise I'm not a slacker! Where has the time gone? The Nat...
