Words from a writer with wanderlust. Three week American culture fix. My moma made Thanksgiving dinner the next day for 14 people and I was excited to reunite with friends and family, including new family members my soon to be sister-in-law and new niece and nephew! Number one “AMERICA! 8221; moment of the day: The tailgate across from us had their own deep frier. In a matter of three hours, I saw them fry chicken wings, an entire cheeseburger and a piece of cake. Number two “AMERICA! You are commenting ...

Words from a writer with wanderlust. After graduating from DePaul University in Chicago Illinois, I decided it would be best to duck out to South-East Asia when America was facing one of its most daunting job markets. Competing with journalists in a massive market like Chicago, while everyone else seemed to be struggling aswell, did not seem as appealing as traveling for a few years. GOOD LUCK, LAUREN! I CAN’T WAIT TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR NEW ADVENTURES IN BANGKOK! Cecilia and Jef B. Enter your comment here.

Words from a writer with wanderlust. Nui is a monk. Written candidly. Beware. Cruising around the Rangsit neighborhood, Heidi, Babs and I enjoyed pastries and sat down for some noodle soup in the street. The heat of the day paired with the steamy soup made my head spin. But for some reason I knew later that other things would do the same; curiosity and adoration. 8221; Nui’s mother quickly corrected the baby. “Pa Nui! 8221; Or, “Monk Nui! 8221; “Have you been able to relax your mind? Words from a writer with wanderlust. Yet another lapse in updating. One year recap. Since I went to Hong Kong, I also moved to an island to help my friends with their guesthouse. Koh Chang is a beautiful place. I had a simple life there, one I’m craving at times. and I was never bored. However, the transient lifestyle there was not for me. One needs a bit of a stability on the other side of the world. Laquo; Three week American culture fix. Date : December 20, 2009. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Did you really think I could stay away this long?
Did you really think I could stay away this long? Saturday, June 9, 2007. Where do I start? Well I've only been in Haiti for 4 days (and only 3 in Jacmel) but it seems like a lot longer then that, but not necessarily in a bad way. My first day back. To come from God. It has to be something He gives you, otherwise, where does it come from? I really do love her, but I'm only here for two weeks. I pray that we will always feel loved. Good night and I love you all! Friday, June 8, 2007. And that my time in t...

Words from a writer with wanderlust. Red in the sky – Curfew Night #1. On the first night of curfew, someone had asked me to write an editorial on how I was feeling about the unrest in Thailand. A few glasses of white wine later. I surely didn’t. Though I knew the reds’ stance on things in Thailand, never in my wildest dreams had I thought things would escalate to such devastation to this city I now call home. Family Mart and 711 were already shut for business. Comments : 1 Comment. My team got 2nd place!

Lauren in the Afternoon
Lauren in the Afternoon. Sunday, November 15, 2009. Best Fall Recipe: Banana Pumpkin Smoothie. Once recommended eating canned pumpkin for a semi-sweet, low-calorie snack. I took it a step further with this amazingly yummy, nutritious and- best of all- filling smoothie. Some context: This summer I bought a hand blender and since then, I've been crazy for the smoothies. Ingredients: 1/3 to a 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin (The more pumpkin you use, the more intense the flavor. I use a 1/2 cup.). 1 cup soy milk.
