Melon Pan: November 2010

http://laurennomelonpan.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

A sweet bread that tastes like honeydew. Getting Sick in Japan. I know it's been three months since I posted. I'm sorry. I didn't really know how to follow up climbing Mt. Fuji, so I just kept putting it off. This post still won't really measure up to the last, but at least it's something, right? I'll try to keep a more regular schedule, too, from here on. Sunday night, my throat started hurting. I figured it would go away, and tried to ignore it as best I could, but didn't get much sleep. I'm feeling mo...

Melon Pan: Epic Festival Trip: Part Two

http://laurennomelonpan.blogspot.com/2010/08/epic-festival-trip-part-two.html

A sweet bread that tastes like honeydew. Epic Festival Trip: Part Two. So we left off with me in Yokote after seeing the Akita Kanto Festival with all the lanterns. Day Four started off badly. I didn't set my alarm the night before, because I'd been naturally waking up around 6 everyday and wasn't in any hurry. However, I was apparently exhausted, because I woke up at 10:03. Check-out was at 10. This was not good. The station was huge, but there was an information stand set up for visitors coming for the...

Melon Pan: May 2010

A sweet bread that tastes like honeydew. Here it is, the Sports Day post. And really, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here's a bunch of moving pictures to tell you about it better than I could. And that was pretty much my Sports Day. I just chilled and watched the kids compete. It was entertaining, definitely, though I wish I could have been a part of it somehow. Maybe for the next one. 5/22/2010 11:42:00 AM Category: my school. Like today. I was with my 2nd grade teacher in the classroom, wa...

Melon Pan: A Month Later

http://laurennomelonpan.blogspot.com/2011/04/month-later.html

A sweet bread that tastes like honeydew. It's been approximately a month since the first earthquakes hit, so I figure it's time for an update. After I posted that last entry, I spent most of my time with some other ALTs and stayed the night at another's apartment because the building next to mine had some structural damage that forced the residents to move out and made me nervous. Things with the plant were still looking really bad, so five of us decided to make the trek to Tokyo. View my complete profile.

Melon Pan: February 2010

http://laurennomelonpan.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

A sweet bread that tastes like honeydew. It's starting to feel real. Since I interviewed for this job waaay back in May of last year, you can probably imagine how unreal and intangible this feels. Especially since I was initially going to start in August and got pushed back to March. Which got pushed back again (sort of) to April. Of different countries, should I feel the urge. For the next year, at least. Which is pretty cool. The whole process took maybe. 2/25/2010 01:57:00 AM Category: the process.

Sometimes I write things. | Jenn in Japan

https://jenninjapan.wordpress.com/2011/11/10/sometimes-i-write-things

If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hoper, a prayer, a magic-bean-buyer. If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire, for we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Sometimes I write things. November 10, 2011. This little experiment in sound appeared this morning. Rhyme. Rhythm. Syllables. Consonance. Assonance. Alliteration. Brevity. It’s probably best if you read this aloud…just a suggestion. I miss so many moments. And my meager mind is. I lose my equilibrium.

Japan Japan Japan . com. Everyday's an adventure – 毎日が冒険です – Andy's Japanese photo blog. Starbucks Vanilla Creamy lemon latte. It’s a bit of a mouth full to order at the counter but I really like it. Since coming to japan I frequently visit Starbucks to get some work done. Definitely not medicine-y like my mates say! Think I’ll stick to my regular Cafe Latte in the future. Can’t mess with perfection (perfection as far as Starbucks goes anyway). By Andy on March 20, 2014. Posted in Food and Drink.

Lauren's Life...

Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Well the last couple days have been absolutely wonderful! Do you ever feel like you are put a place where nothing in the whole entire world matters. You dont think about anything at all except the peace that surrounds you! It feels like you have been picked up and put away from all the worries, all the fears, all the discomfort and it ends up you are in the arms of the Lord and under the tender care of your loving Heavenly Father. I love that feeling! We had a blast that night!

Thoughts from a Student Pastors Wife

Thoughts from a Student Pastors Wife. Thursday, February 11, 2010. Examine yourself" He says. Examine myself. I am a selfish being with messed up priorities, but that doesn't exactly meet the qualifications of examining. I must search deep within me, not just looking for my issues, but how God can mold me into what He wants me to be. What can I do on my part and why am I not doing it? Friday, January 22, 2010. In every step. God give me purpose because I can't live without it. Wednesday, January 13, 2010.
